Thread: Give me a reason why KV8 is OP?9 Sep 2013, 23:14 PM I had a 2v2 game yesterday in which one of the Soviet players just spam KV-8 and even then it wasn't OP in any way. At one point I hade like 1 PzIV against 3 KV-8 and everything that was required of me was to not let them get behind which was quite easy as these tanks are quite slow. He tried to rush my infantry but I just kept them behind my lines and retreated when necessary. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: SU-85; The Thread9 Sep 2013, 12:00 PM I don't understand the complaints regarding SU-85. All you really need is a PzIV to destroy them. I haven't built a single PzV in 1v1 or 2v2 game as a German. Why you would go for Panthers when you can have 2 PzIV for the same price. Bargain. And when you will get Vet1 Blitz you don't need to flank them. You can just rush head on and get behind them using this ability. I would only build Panthers in 3v3 or 4v4 games but rarely. Thread: Sick/bored of MG42 -.-9 Sep 2013, 11:15 AM I think the way to improve MG42 gameplay and make it viable is to make the pinning the same as Maxims (remove this pin bulletin completely), reduce its firing arc by around 20 degrees so it is not possible to block approach on certain maps (eg. Minsk pocket, Rzhev Spring) with 2 MGs and what's the most important make it so when flanked correctly MG42 have two choices really. Retreat or die. In: COH2 Balance

Usually its not something you "see", but the cast editing makes it possible to compare the rates of the two players. Sov seems to consistently gain CP faster than Ost does. I've had a niggling feeling before, but never specifically paid attention to it. Anyone else noticed this kind of thing? This would explain the phenomenon that KV8s actually hit the field pretty much at the same time as PIVs, despite, nominally, having a higher CP number. That's not true. A lot of factors come into this and it's very map and match dependant. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Give me a reason why KV8 is OP?6 Sep 2013, 22:44 PM I've played some games as a German today and I have had some KV-8 encounters but every single time a PzIV tank was more than enough to deal with it. Even with KV-8 being supported by rest of his army and some SU-85 sniping from the distance. I don't think there is an issue with a unit itself. You will be allright as long as you will not try to use PG to deal with it. Not a single one of my retreating units got killed. Not so sure why all this fuss regarding this unit. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: mortar team balance4 Sep 2013, 22:13 PM Yet another whining thread on these few decent Soviet units left. How about we fix these MG's in 2v2 and German tanks blitzing with damaged engine? Lets change 120 mortar in another Maxim so Germans have easy time playing with each other as soon there will be no Soviet player to play this game. BTW, anyone knows ETA on the next patch? I don't need to hear about how 2v2 isn't manly enough because it isn't 1v1... I get that. I play about half and half, and the tactics required for each are totally different. When you can't just go around them and cap other parts of the map like 1v1, what do you do? Play defensively? Hope they leave it unguarded? Rush in with a clown car so it can get fausted? I enjoy playing 2v2 with my friend, and seeing every game start out with 4xMG42 (2 each, obviously) is frustrating us both. Once they get you with the initial suppression, they just have to keep walking them up and covering each other with their mile wide radius. Flaming clown car comes out at almost the exact time as the .222 scout car, then it's all downhill from there. I use 120 mm mortar (or a couple) when opponents go MG42 heavy in 2v2 mode recently and I am having some success. The game is pretty static for a while but I can cause some manpower losses and destroy Germans fortified positions. This will let me to catch up and tech to T3/T4. After that MG42 role is meaningless. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Balanced Elephant22 Aug 2013, 21:24 PM I just have no idea how to deal with them... I am not pro but I am not complete noob myself and everytime one of these hit the field is gg. No counter in standard arsenal and good luck with flanking using SU-85. In: Replays
