Thread: Too much artillery?15 Jul 2016, 15:45 PM The ISU, Elefant, and JT have always been terrible units when isolated an unsupported. The ISU used to be peerless at leaving an Elefant or JT unsupported. Elefant and JT? Not so much. I dunno what there is to debate. It was a linear and predictable matchup, but it kept people playing because it was at least a bit dynamic. Suppressing ISGs were worse IMO, and the early days of trolling with CAS were probably bar none the cheesiest bit of CoH2's history. In: COH2 Gameplay

A similar question could be asked: Have you noticed an increase in stationary gameplay in 2v2s? I would say yes, especially since British release, because well, obvious reasons. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: need langres help14 Jul 2016, 02:39 AM If you are playing USF, you are really required to throw down smoke at least once per engagement. Those grenades are necessary, mortar option or no. But now that there are mortars for USF, use them to your advantage against those MG rushes. Run a riflemen squad to the flank of a building with an MG, then run another riflemen into the arc of fire. Close towards the building with the other rifle. Move around the corner each time the MG pops out the window. Those base weapon crew mp40s deal like, zero damage, so don't be afraid to point blank them, even in a garrison. Just keep rotating around the building. For every MG your opponent has, match it with a rifle squad that stands in their arc drawing fire while another rifle moves around the arc. Do this until the MG wall closes, then barrage with mortars. By that time the axis has invested all their manpower in MGs, which are easy targets for indirect fire and vehicles. If you are playing Soviets, you're going to have a bit of a tougher time. Forget about T1, buffed penals or not. Their AI capabilities needed improvement but it still wasn't why T1 sucks for Soviets. Try and rush a maxim or two into the building on the right or the by the center VP. If you're finding MGs or an early mortar from the Ostheer, get a mortar out (or hold out and go guard mortar for that sweet sweet 120mm). Play the rock-paper-scissors team weapon game across those central hedges. Have nothing to say about Brits. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Just some thoughts on Ostheer units currently. 14 Jul 2016, 02:27 AM Maybe OKW should swap Obers for Panzergrenadiers with Ostheer. Give grens the single panzerschreck. Seriously though, the problem with all four man squads is that they clump around corners and in cover too easily. What makes grens particularly vulnerable is that to engage at long range they must become stationary. In addition the lmg42 upgrade (that they almost require to be competitive) has to have them be stationary to aim and fire. Better spread in cover and pathing around objects would go a long way to improve the plight of all 4 man squads, most especially grenadiers. But the only circumstances that grenadiers should get a fifth man is if comes with an upgrade that exchanges their weapons for mp40s. And make the upgrade replace assault grenadiers. The Tiger could use a front armor boost and the Panther needs either a slight cost reduction, or made to be similar/identical to OKW panther. Those I think are pretty necessary. In: COH2 Balance

Especially with the blaring sounds of panzerwerfers firing, and there is that annoying alert signal... But that begs another question. Why in the nine hells do we only have the one annoying, repetitive, bleeping signal? What happened to the 'attack, defend, capture' single blips? Anyway, I'm not so sure that's a common scenario... Because if you think about it, your opponent lost his entire army as well, so you would've broken even, not automatically lost. In: COH2 Balance

But Soviets rely on their commanders upgrading their units (PPSh) or calling in new ones (Guards, Shocks, T34/5, IS 2/U). NKVD allows you to recon so you know where to send your conscript blob to feed rapid conscription for more conscripts. And that's about it. In: Lobby

Makes sense for pwerfer to have lower friendly dmg, but definitely not for StuKa, where you have control over the shot landings and definitely for sturmtiger. Wat? I mean, sturmtiger shell sure shouldn't have lower friendly fire damage. But I don't see how the differences between the panzerwerfer and stuka zu fuss would necessitate lower friendly fire damage. In fact, what sense does less friendly fire damage make in the context of any artillery barrage? As in, why does it make sense to fire artillery onto your own positions? In: COH2 Balance
