Thread: New Steam Version Gone FUBAR3 Jan 2014, 17:17 PM For some reason now I can no longer join any custom games, and when I try to automatch it either says I have been disconnected and boots me out of the map/faction selection screen or sometimes it will stick me in a custom game lobby titled "Automatch". I had to reinstall once to fix that problem and then after a few days it came back, now I just reinstalled again and its still fucking up. Anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? My Soviets are pretty bad because whenever I come off of breaks and a new meta thats usually where I start. But the majority of my German games were played in the same time period which explains why my W/L with them was substantially higher than yours when I was very active on CoH2 (and surprisingly is still slightly higher). If it is such a low skill ceiling, the awesome players of yore should easily beat the players new to the franchise...Can they? Apparently not, because we get these butt-hurt comments that stem from players being, well, not very good at the current game. Lower skill ceiling means that its more welcoming for new people but for the guys that are trying to be hardcore top players there is a much smaller gap between them and the mid-high players. Nobody can dominate at the same level when 75% of the strategy has been heavily streamlined and there is severe input lag, because now being smarter and/or faster is less rewarding. Right now the two most important traits in being a high level CoH2 player is finding a combination of doctrine and build order that work very well game in and game out without needing to make much on the fly decisions, and practice aka gamespam. If DevM put in 600-1000 games and stopped trying to use vcoh style build orders and conformed to the repetitive CoH2 cheese he would probably be in the finals. But when the two most important requirements for being a top player are predetermined strategies that very rarely require much improvisation and just playing more games, it isn't a very compelling competitive RTS for the top tier crowd. Some of those players shouldn't be on that list but Darealslim would probably beat you within 15 minutes every time in vcoh or CoH2 too for that matter if the skill cap was just as high. PS: I remember one time I played Andy in CoH1 in my first or second game in like 3 months and it took him an hour to beat me, on the shittiest map in the game, and he had no units left but won only because VPs were so far apart on shit map I couldn't hold them and then he was so overjoyed he went and prideposted it. Site was made for fans of the franchise, it was named "CoH2.org" when everyone was optimistic that CoH2 was going to be an all around improvement from CoH1.
