Thread: Cheating in Company of Heroes 2 (news from Relic)12 Apr 2014, 12:28 PM They should've been banned but whats done is done and they aren't going to go back and ban someone after they already told them they were being punished differently (unless they continue cheating ofc). Its not the end of the world, Noun implied this everyones first and last warning so any future cheating will probably be immediate ban. Plus the people that got wins reset (not stats reset) will have a tarnished reputation forever, shitty stats for a very long time, or they will have to buy the game again on another account. For people that take stats so seriously that they cheat and now they have lots of losses and zero wins, this almost is a ban. They should definitely release the other names though. In: Lobby

I went like ~5 months without playing Ostheer in 1v1, only dropped to position 400 or so which isn't a relatively small decay for being inactive that long. everyone has gone through these cycles, so that seems pretty fair. Since most people improve over time, they like stats to reflect how they've been playing recently and not every game they ever played. If there was also an all time stats page that would be fine, but there should be something that shows current performance and not how many times you got roflstomped by SU85 or Tiger Ace way back in the day. Pro sports leagues do the same thing, we aren't exactly trying to reinvent the wheel. the whole point of ladders and stats is to track the players. like sluzbenik said, if everyones ratings are reset, the automatch games will be even more imbalanced than they are now. you could have top 10 players matched up with people who have never played before. it takes time for the ratings to actually represent a players skill. Like Ami and Inverse said you could keep the ELO points in to a next season. In SC2 you only do placement matches for your first season, then next season it just drops you in the same league you were in before afaik. In: Lobby

I don't think anyone can legitimately argue that $3 is unreasonable for the content, it's more that this kind of DLC shouldn't exist. If this was a FPS there wouldn't be nearly as much bitching about it. If they made a $30-40 traditional expansion once every year or two nobody would be complaining. In a so called competitive RTS people should have access to all the same stuff without being nickel and dimed for it, the imbalanced part just adds insult to injury. Relic isn't a multi billion dollar empire like Rockstar or Activision/Blizzard, we can make a difference here if people weren't so fucking weak willed they sell out to get better spot on the ladder. If they want to sell singleplayer or aesthetic content like camos or alternate sound packs, fine. Thread: Boss units10 Apr 2014, 15:22 PM IS2 ISU152 Elefant and KV8 are all retarded. Elefant and ISU need huge range nerf, in exchange make them more maneuverable and maybe a higher fire rate. This way the game rewards using them offensively with supporting units rather than just camping them in the back and defending the flanks. About the KV8 I think the flame damage is fine for the amount of resources it costs, but the speed needs to be decreased so it can't follow retreating units back to base so easily. IS2 needs a AoE or dmg or some sort of nerf so it doesn't insta gib a 4 man infantry units multiple times each game. Also the crew shock crit needs to be removed from the game. It is fine as a veteran ability i.e. Pak & Stug but it should not occur on just ordinary attacks from the boss tanks because it just slows the game down and just adds even more RNG to a game that already has a ludicrous amount of it. The current balance participants are an eclectic bunch, with only a small handful of top players (that I know of) or even players that care about COH2 as an Esport. ^^ Steam group for closed beta participants has like 7 or so well known players, some huge Relic suck ups, and a lot of people that as far as I can tell were included because they have friends in beta. For example RtN has a few pretty good players in it, though it looks like almost everyone in the clan is in closed beta. At least that was the case back when there was like 30 beta members.
