Anyone that thinks someone shouldn't do what they feel comfortable with within the constraints of the tournament to win $2.5k is a casual pleb. If someone should have to conform to all these standards as to what is a respectable way to play, maybe the game just isn't as good as you think it is.
The bans that are in place are bad enough, banning something mid tournament is super unprofessional. If someone put effort in to preparing for X faction only to have one of their tricks taken away in the middle of the tournament, and not having any time to prepare alternatives, the tournament would be a complete sham.
@OP Those are the only 4 players that are in or near top 10 with every faction with a W/L about 4:1 or higher with most factions that have won a tournament before. It actually makes perfect sense they were invited.
I think the players seeded should be people who put alot into the community (like Luvnest), not just show up for a tourney then vanish again for months... Cough Aimstrong cough.
He didn't just show up after the tournament was announced, but afaik DevM did. I wouldn't be surprised if he was playing more than Jesulin and OMGPOP in the months leading up to the tournament being announced, I've seen Aimstrong playing CoH2 on steam regularly for about the past 6 months now. Its funny because back then everyone was whining about how he was playing OKW and got number one, and now that he's seeded in a tournament everyone gets butthurt because he "hasn't played" lel.
He's a game reviewer, and he's not going to invest a ton of time in the competitive scene of one particular game (he doesn't even do that with the games he gives a 10, and if he reviewed CoH2 it would probably get around an 8). I'm not saying he's never going to play/stream the game again, maybe he will even do an actual review for the full game now, but anything beyond that is a pipe dream.
Such as verbally/visually disclosing that Sega paid him at the beginning of the video and at the end of it, you shouldn't only mention it on the description that 90% of viewers ignore.
Afaik they only asked him to play the game, I don't remember him saying he was being paid to do it. And the fact that he gave a very appropriate response to the p2w commanders doesn't make this look like a bought review.
Sure exploiting is low but it's not directly and consciously going outside the constraints of the game to gain an unfair advantage, as cheating is.
Yeah I agree, I reworded it. Its also possible they didn't even realize what they were doing was made against the rules at the time. My point was if all CoH1 are offenses overlooked, would Biosparks or Snej be allowed to play?
The problem for me is inconsistency. If the ban was for double accouts, VonIvan and some others also qualify. If its for cheating, Barton and DevM received a temporary ban in coh1 for exploits (defensive artillery on barbed wire I believe) which isn't technically cheating but did get them a short ban from GR.org. If CoH1 does not count, would Biosparks be allowed to participate?
The fact that the size of the pool influenced the decision is also messed up. If the official stance here is no past cheaters in coh2.org hosted tournaments then thats fine, but that should be the case 100% of the time, not when prize pool reaches X amount.
Rome 2 is my last TW, I don't trust Creative anymore, shogun 2 still my favor game of tw series. will wait until it release then wait to see the reviews of it
It was terribad at release but Creative Assembly did a damn good job cleaning it up, its been a good game for a while now.

I'm sure that I will. I'm not going to stick to any formal schedule of doing multiple per week, but as long as I'm actively playing the game there probably be 2-4 per month, and maybe more if my commentaries get good reception.
