Sure, fix it vs aircraft (thats actually a bug not an underperformance). But also reduce its ability to insta-wipe infantry. = Tadaaa fixed
Thread: Drop hacking11 Apr 2019, 06:35 AM
Is this still a thing? Me and Karziel have won most of our recent 2v2's, but our stats say we're at -6.
Ermm Wtf? We've won the last 3, only lost 1 in the last 4 weeks, and had 1 drop hacker in the last week.
The hell is going on?

I mean, all it needs is grens to have a 5-man squad, and cost 280. Gives them a new dynamic that also prevent them from being too easily wiped mid-late game.
OR... Make the Squad leader upgrade a stock upgrade. So they pay 60 munis for either a LMG42 (and stay 4man), or a 5th man and G43's.
When you think the USf and UKF get 2x LMG's per squad and 5 man squads, its not unreasonable. |
I mean, theres a lot of arguments in here like "Penals are the counterpart to P-Grens". But... think about it, the squad wipe potential is vastly different to output...
One mine = half a OST squad dead, = retreat.
2 snipers, and you have to run.
1 mortar shell or nade can easily wipe a squad...
Late game, a dozer sherman/HE round sherman, Scott, Pakhowitzer, Brit Centaur or even a IS2 can easily AND QUICKLY 1 shot a vet 3 gren squad....
As for a 5-6 man squad that aint gonna happen unless they position clump.
If you compensated cost for the 5th man of a gren squad, it would be fine. The only reason anyone would oppose that is either they dont play the game, or they're enjoying their allied win spree. (which trust me, ive done before, im not proud of it, was to prove a point).

But after last patch, Brits have none.
Kinda agree with this.
Brits headshot crit capability is basically free G43's for their squads, + the 5 man upgrade is nuts considering grens cant get the same upgrade.
Churchills should be 1 per player, like any other heavy tank in the game, when the wall of churchills comes out theres very little chance you're gonna be able to counter it effectively, with the bren-blob following it to clear out AT guns, and with maybe 1 firefly behind them.
The free base arti is also nuts, nobody else gets that.... fine I get asymmetrical balance, but when a faction has ALL these options, and the axies have none of them (at least for free)... its just dumb.
Finally, the fact emplacements can 'brace' is a bit nuts, I get it.... and its fine as a concept. But at least give it to the pak 43 & flack emplacements... If you cant decrew a Brit 17 pounder emplacement, then decrewing a pak 43 is kinda unfair.
And in team games the above is even more insane since your emplacements/churchill wall can be backed up by Kyetushas or jackson spam.

I mean look at all tourney finals. where they can pick the factions, First pick, always picks allies. And they usually win as them.
If they do tourneys with axis vs axis etc, like star-craft. then you'll notice the factions people ALWAYS pick.
I mean this is literally your playercard: https://gyazo.com/e28022b4a9e0161966643758a273f313
So im not surprised in any way why you have NO CLUE as to balance. Go get a 30 win streak as Axis, then talk to me. (and yeah i once had a 30 win streak as russians, back when Relic listened to fanboi's like yourself and made partisans immortal). Just to prove a point.
Thread: SU mortar 2 Apr 2019, 14:43 PM
Well maybe im just insanely unlucky, but my Ost mortars are never as accurate/effective as the SU ones. Especially since they're fighting vs 6-man squads.
Thread: SU mortar 2 Apr 2019, 03:23 AM
So... This mortar flare... why is it not locked behind T1 at least? And why is it a thing? Its insanely more useful than the ost mortar ability, and better than the US one.
(and dont get me started on 6-man weapon teams).
But this flare should at least be behind Vet 1... And back to a sniper ability only like it started...
Its not as bad as the insane 'precision strike' it used to be, but its still insanely more effective than 'return fire'.
honestly they should all be the same, asymmetrical balance doesnt work in indirect fire/support.

Weapon upgrades that cap at 1 LMG per squad? Wheras every allied faction can have 2 or more per squad. (new doc of guard paras can get 3 DP's).
Id rather pay a fuel upgrade to buy grens their nade for the same cost as the brits or yanks, if it meant that a scott wasnt gonna roll on and 1 shot my vet-3, 4-man gren squad with no chance of avoiding it.
The issue here, and why I made this post, wasnt really about grens output. (while still being the only core infantry of any faction you cant blob and A-move delete all the enemy) Keep the cap of weapons at 1 LMG. Thats fine,
Its the survivability. THAT is the issue the 5-man squad needs to address. The fact that you cant go balls deep with grens, like you can other basic infantry, because their wipe potential (especially vs indirect fire, but even on retreat) is insane. Thats where Osteer lacks in competitive play, when one mortar shell hits and kills 2 guys, you HAVE to retreat, but if it was a 5 man squad and you lost 2? It can often be worth staying around and risking it.
Thats why even in these tourny's we see US and UKF blobs with 2 LMG's in a blob walking across a road in terminator mode. Volks cant really do that, but grens def cant do that.
RNG is a big part of this game sure, and I know a big argument is against this game in ESL because of the RNG values. And to be honest? They're right. Ive never had a 5-6 man squad 1-shot by a mortar, lieg or US-Pak howitzer. But ive had a LOT of 4 man squads 1-shot by Mortars, US-pac's, Kyetusha's and Scott carriages. 4-man squads are just more vulnerable. Unless the game physics change, that is just a FACT. But for some reason, other than the Engineer's and RE's the Allies have no 4 man squads. Not even their elites. Whereas the Axis have 4 man squads everywhere. Even their elites like obers, falshims and jagers. Which can all be insta-wiped by RNG despite what micro the owning player puts in. Compared to the 5-6-man shocks, para's, commando's etc
Thats not balance, thats not even asymmetrical balance.... thats just plain imbalance.

Nah, 6 man is too much, Teching for nade (they already do with T1 upgrade) and paying per squad for their 5man upgrade would be viable too. Although to balance it would be better for a brit-style upgrade.
