Thread: kv8 underperforms5 Apr 2021, 17:12 PM It is not an all trick pony, but it is great anti infantry tank. What we actually have that has similar price and role? Sturmpanzer? I'd prefer k-8. Don't need to baby sit it, has more health, more armor. 105mm Sherman? meh. Same with Sturmpanzer, but the discrepancy is even more obvious in favor of KV-8. There is cheaper alternative like Flame Hetzer, but it is considerably harder to keep alive. It is good, but clearly not versatile, so a lot of players prefer KV-1 over it. Actually I'm curious if it receives more attention after repair speed nerf on KV-1. In: Lobby

If yes why KV-1 and KV-8 are not hid behind CPs while 105mm, which is not really that hot of the vehicle IMO is. Also the price difference with Brummbar does not reflect their performance difference. Zeroing in particular is already way too toxic of an ability, especially in team games where resources are abundant. Any buffs to 1 click screen-sized barrages and loiters are bad. Which are in most cases force retreats and you don't need to be even decent at the game to use them effectively like plane strafes or light barrages. In: COH2 Balance

What makes it funnier is the game just had a "balance" patch released but nobody remembered to address the supposed issue before the game got patched. Hilarious. No, the KV-1 is fine. It's on the same level of useful as a Churchill which isn't much. You people should be concerned about actually bad units and abilities instead of this. KV-1 is sort of meta, churchill is not (comet is). So they are quite different in this regard. Kv-1 is also quite affordable and comes in a variety of pretty decent doctrines. But you are right about this thread being ironically late. I can see why people are complaining tho, but some comments are so bonkers. E.g. mocking a sentence where Katitof said that t34-76 gun is weak smh. Sometimes I question if all players have the same version of the game. In: COH2 Balance

So there are actually issues with the ability which can make it a bit toxic: a) if the squad in nothing less then green cover it is almost always a guaranteed suppression effect on the target. And if you put it in practice that means it become a likely retreat. b) it is way too cheap (15 munies) and the cooldown is too low (50 sec general cooldown - 20 sec ability duration = 30 sec ability cooldown). a+b = a likely forced retreat for a price of 15 munies. Actually the range increase is not that drastic (at least it seems like it to me) Solution is just decrease suppression potential at far range so the enemy could react and reposition the squad if it is not in green cover. Also accuracy increase does not make a lot of sense. The health damage and possible model drops is enough for munies being well spent. I agree that ability needs some attention, but I'd like it to stay in the game. In: COH2 Balance

First you make an argument and when it crumbles - you start asking ridiculous questions. By the looks of it I'm not the only one here to receive a facepalm about your shenanigans. Also pretty sure that we won't see any major rework of UKF, then why do you even bring up complex issues you have 0 idea how to properly solve or with full knowledge that nothing major would be done to it? What is the relevance of an HMG which is direct fire weapon with indirect fire weapons? Because all indirect fire weapons outrange HMGs, aren't they? Building osttruppen give no speed benefit other than 40 manpower per squad time than in early game has very little impact and there is very little reason to use them. That was the whole idea, read patch notes. Again they are already very cost-efficient to justify building them. Yes, their dps is not excellent, but their whole point being a meat shield with fausts for support weapons. And it's not like the are trading with a deficit against other mainline like grens do.
