Not sure if it can be compared to B4 though... The ST adjustment makes it awesome. I'm just saying that commander was relevant before the patch. You said that it would have been forgotten and I disagreed and explained why. That is all. Not gonna debate about if new meta influenced effectiveness of other abilities that commander has, because that is besides the point. In: COH2 Balance

I absolutely love playing with someone who knows how to use the ST so well. The commander would be forgotten about if it did not have a ST. It was a part of meta before the ST 'adjustment'. As was said earlier, 221 is a great tool for early game pressure, tank commander provides great bonuses to the vehicle and HEAT Shells cannot be underestimated + self repair is a handy ability. Duffmann, for example, was spamming it for the long time way before the patch. Although he used it mostly without ST. Also it used to be 4th picked commander, now it is second picked. CE as very close to Conscripts in combat stat per entity. There are simply not "terrible/horrible" as you claim. Apparently merge makes SOV engie with a sweeper a decent combat unit. Perhaps one of the possible approaches is to give a unit with minesweeper shared vet. Especially this is an issue for OST and SOV. In: Lobby
Thread: Dealing with Allied Tank Destroyers 7 Jul 2021, 13:18 PM I use packs and panther in 2v2. 2 AT guns is a decent place to be vs such composition. Some people like panther dives, but I think this is not the unit to gamble with, especially if you do that with more then 1, since you are often rushing into territory full of mainline infantry and mines. Stug is nice, but a niche unit. You still can spam it and get value out of it, since it is much cheaper fuelwise then regular TD. JPIV is much better at killing TDs. Snares are 100 damage, even if the snare still penetrates after 1 shot from AT, it still won't be enough for it to cause engine damage, because 75%HP threshold for ST is 960 HP (1280HP in total). According to stats, it is still behind Guard Motor, Airborne and Armored Assault. Yeah, its pick rate increased, but will see if it grows further then that. Thread: SOV Land Lease is new meta?6 Jul 2021, 11:31 AM The doctrine has a premium medium, the only proper HMG Soviets have access to and guards with nade assault, which is arguably one of the best grenade variants in the game. Everything else is a cherry on top, but those are still useful abilities, like infantry repair and Zis Truck. Saw VonIvan using it on stream and tried it myself several times. Very fun and powerful commander in 1v1. While M4c lacks anti infantry capabilities of t34, having smoke on demand was very appreciated while playing SOV. Although I still won't pick it as a team game option, even in 2v2. What do you think? In: Strategy Desk
