What I would like to see, is an ability to run them off the map and refund their cost, so if you keep them alive you can use the ability again essentially free, so they always have shock value, and arent expected to fight as frontline troops In: COH2 Balance |

Play allies, show us how you are top 10 after 50 games using what you mentioned, prove your point. The game shouldn't be balanced solely around the capabilities of ~50 players(top 10 of every faction). Many of us have 0 capacity to ever reach that level of play. I didn't have a problem with maxims when I was only playing Soviets, but having picked up OKW as a secondary faction, in certain maps, especially with buildings, maxims can be a problem. Penals are the strongest (non-doc) infantry that come at the early game, although wehr can deal with this using suppression, it can be hard to deal with penals into a scout car with flamers. (in my experience) Im not saying that soviets are OP (I feel they are not OP, just really nicely designed and paced), because it feels fairly balanced with Wehr. (Although I dont play wehr, so take this with a grain of salt) It feels like OKW may lack some tools in dislodging early aggression by maxims, especially in maps with multiple well situated buildings. However, I don't use feuersturm doctrine as I dont own it, so perhaps this adds some tools, although not having the doctrine really gimps me in some maps, I don't like vetoing to be the solution to this. it also feels like perhaps you shouldn't have to have a doctrine just to effectively deal with maxim spam. I think you might be mistaken, sturmpioner has panzershrek, volksgrenadier has panzerfaust. You cant really blob sturmpioner, they have too much reinforce. *edit* also, Shrecks go BOOM, PTRS dont. In: COH2 Balance |

Sorry for the double reply, But on a serious note, what if conscripts got the penal PTRS package, and Penals(please rename HERO STRELKOVY) Got a weapon upgrade, like the dp-27 to go with svt, but could fire on the move and was locked to tier? or if not, the real answer to conscripts not being strong enough, is more conscripts. What about keeping ppsh doctrinal and giving them an SVT package that comes with a REAL GRENADE, so they can operate similar to the grenadiers with g43? In my Ideal world, conscripts would be like 140mp with really low reinforce but same stats, so we can swarm the germans without too much bleed. I also dislike the theme of penals being the elite troop choice for soviets, the USSR actually had many elite units, all called HERO units historically. I'd much rather have hero soldiers with svt's rather than penals. (even just thematically) ((Hero Strelkovy anyone?)) In: COH2 Balance |
