Thread: Relic Content Creators & rights to unionize15 Feb 2023, 08:48 AM So here's what's happened from what I can see: 1) Ace says dumb shit on a private server (as do many other people) 2) Ace is involved in antognistic behaviour (both ways) 3) People screenshot his dumb shit he says and send it to the CM in 2022 4) Ace is involved in toxic on stream behavior (as are many other people) 5) Ace is involved in very negative feedback for CoH3 on their public server (as are many other people) 6) Ace likely given an initial warning by the CM 7) Ace says more dumb shit on private server (some of it clearly joking), and it gets back to the CM who then removes him from their content creator program, they do not ban him from their game. Are Relic within their rights to remove him from their program? yes. We do not however know the full and actual reason he was removed, or the timings, or the warning used. Based on what we know, does it seem unfair within the context and precedents set with other people? yes. Based on what we know, does it seem unfair that dark/edgy jokes can be taken out of context in a private setting and illuminated elsewhere? yes, but this always happens on the internet. Based on what we know, should we unionise? Yes, but we should be unionised anyway. The ML I run is partly due to trying to keep some level of parity and power for the community where possible, that's my effort. I like it when the community and developer work together, I do not like top heavy, soulless corporate approaches. What we want from John/ Relic is a clear explanation as to why Ace was removed so people know what to do/ not to do, and so he can learn from his own behavior. Thread: Analysis: should buy CoH3 or not.15 Jan 2023, 11:38 AM Full analysis if you should buy CoH3 or not. Opinion, fan polls, CoH1/2/3 comparison. These are my true feelings based on my 17 years XP as a CoH fan, community feedback, the launch package of the game, and how it's looking in beta. It is aimed at fellow CoH fans but may be interesting to outsiders. I try to remain as objective as possible using a comparison exercise. It may be surprisingly negative and positive in different areas so stay open minded. I had 250 viewers on Twitch helping me with some of the trickier issues. Overall I have 6 things Relic need to fix asap in order to make it a must buy game, as right now there are fixable things holding it back. Thread: poll: call in vehicles as a design choice21 Dec 2022, 10:26 AM poll: call in vehicles as a design choice - where do you stand on them? I am trying to gather feedback on call in vehicles as a design choice for CoH3. Nothing official for Relic, I just might make a video on the topic. Context: CoH3 currently looks set to heavily rely on call in vehicles, for example double light tank call in, double stug call in, or tiger call in for DAK. The Panzer IV infantry tank and Sherman EZ8 for Wehr and US (as seen in many pre alpha games). CoH2 had many, many, balance patches to mitigate the prominence of call in vehicles. However anecdotally many players seem to enjoy using them. Whilst I'm sure they'll be balancing these carefully in January before launch, I just want to get an understanding of where people's attitudes lie currently. Vote on the below with from very accepting to very against. These are generalist statements that I think covers the spectrum on this topic, please vote for the one that most represents you. The last year: There was an awesome concept tourney in Scorched Earth blending new concepts and tested ones and seeing DevM winning his last active tourney as a player. Then we had the ML Finals 2022 a 5 tourney world championship with Noggano finally coming out on top, and so many players hitting their stride. Then we had GCS3 a spectacular live event that will mark our climax as a collective for Company of Heroes 2 and for the foreseeable future, congratulations again to Luvnest for coming full circle. The Future: It is the opinion of myself and others that CoH3 is a campaign focused project that will need significant time post release to mature into something ready for the community to spend its hard earned cash and energy on. So we should be patient and help the process that will inevitably follow. Patrons you will not be charged in August and we will be suspending the patreon account until further notice. Feel free to keep your membership active, you will not be charged, and you will be warned before it comes online again (probably some time later next year). I don't think this will be the end of fan tournaments, it will however mean that we'll be stepping away from the intensity that a patreon fund demands. Using the Last of the Budget: Kings of CoH 2v2 event will go ahead as planned on the 30/31st July only. A smaller affair now using the rest of our patreon funds of $500, I will be putting in $100 of my own funds from the sponsorships I've had in the last week or two, to give a final prizpeool of $600. Thread: Tiger balance in 1v1?9 Jun 2022, 11:49 AM Basically don't listen to anyone else only listen to me because I know the truth that you seek. Tiger in 1v1 only sucks if you don't do the following, if you do the following it's a game winning unit. Upon getting the tiger out, slow the game down and consolidate your forces, your objective is to keep the tiger alive and get it to vet 3. To do this the game needs to last 45min+. At vet 0-2 it's a liability at vet3 it wins games. Keep the tiger in the centre, and ensure it's well protected with pak40s and a teller on the flank, do not let it fall prey to soviet ram and IL2 strafe. NEVER GO PAST THE HALF WAY LINE - keep the tiger in your territory, and use it to BLAP enemy infantry, and finish off wounded enemy tanks. It is a defensive unit. Stall until vet3, upon reaching vet3 the fire rate improves greatly, and it basically becomes an army destroyer, if you support it. Slowly push up the map, giving it support it needs, and you'll eat your opponent alive. In: COH2 Balance
