SU tanks are somewhat lame in the game, even with the "outnumber" mindset, they just wont get sh*t done, but are a resource sink. T34 are not capable of punching through tough defenses. Unless you want KV1s in T3 the changes you want to do wont be of any use. You just cant nerf something out of the blue.
I will grant though that PTRS are hard hitting rifles, when massed (3 squads) they wreak havok on medium armor too and as you said that lets SU bridge to higher tech tiers.
Please someone correct me if im mistaken, but wouldnt garrisons counter the deathloop? I mean, a garrisoned maxim, swaps crewman instantly and sets up with no animation involved but a simple time delay, hence the deathloop wont restart.
To fix maxims deathloop is to make them better with garrisons
The best answer would be:
How risky is to stand and fight (W/L ratio) vs chances to have at least 1 survivor on the retreating squad (RA/Moving Acc ratio)
Each stance, I.e. 222s vs riflemen / cons vs FHT / Dodge vs Grens / ... can be averaged and then define the best value for moving acc. Some squads will have an easier time to defend themselves, other should run as soon as the danger of being rush wiped appears
I can work with that, makes sense. But being able to retreat does distinguish it from the zis and m42. Within my suggestion a 5th man is a nice survivability buff, so what would you think about removing retreat (including the other changes too)?
Why does SU always tries to get a hand on raketens? Because it can fall back, same goes for the outperforming HMG42, everyone wants one. Now, retreating on raketens must stay to keep the "i want that" mechanic. 5 man wont cut it and on axis and is just as out of place as a hobo in a spa.
Where's the raketen changes? It seems to be universally agreed upon to be cheesy. It's annoying to use and play against, so how is this not a priority
People got so mad with pfusies that raketens must have been postponed. Btw if by change you mentioned in increasing is firing arc, pen, dmg, set up time, sight and reduce its RA in exchange of creeping camo, we both agree.

Edit: In general 3 weapon upgrades for rangers, seems an interesting concept. They will really outperform any other infantry hands down, but at a very high cost. I mean VERY high muni cost (maybe reduce drop rates of weapons a little bit too)
Rifleman are a victim of powercreep, pgren/Jaeger/shocks/grens hell even ostruppen all recieving buffs through core changes or commanders.

Meanwhile they lost their smoke grenades. I say drop them to 250mp like volks and make BAR a 60muni StG style upgrade, then slightly nerf performance. Also give back smoke with grenade tech
Cool, give vehicle crews to all factions then, as it is in the all units mod. There’s no reason usf should get the royal treatment and retain this absolutely broken mechanic.
No mean to be mean, Vehicle crews are what makes USF special, if all factions had it, then all factions should have caches, weapon upgrades on the field, multirole bunkers, tanktraps, 0KH mines, smoke pots.
(I know, real warfare uses most of them independently of factions, but this is a game, right?)
Also it will be pretty boring, i mean mirror matches
