Why in the world is the ladder situation a grim one? There are ladders. Quite frankly, I would rather have the elite competitive community here run them than Relic. |
There are certainly issues that should be improved for these mighty tanks. However, the costs are not accidental. The increased costs take into account the fact that you don't have to tech up (tech up cost +/or building cost) and also that there is no build-time once it is unlocked.
I fully support both being improved, especially in the tank-to-tank role, but I wouldn't hold my breath on massive fuel cost reductions. |

Please do not simply post a link to another forum/thread here. If you wanted to sum up your long thread in a post and then continue it here to find new input, great. CoH2.org is it's own place. |
Why would you need a stats reset? The rating isn't based on how many games you play, but how much you are winning against good players. If you just start and then manage to go on a 10 game win streak against increasingly good players, you'll rise very quickly on the leaderboard. |
You guys are Heroes of the CoH2 universe. |
Don't mind Cyridius. All he does is complain about every little thing.
I think this looks great! Keep up the good work guys. |
Cyridius, CoH1's peak number of players online was years after release. One record was set right after the Eastern Front mod was released. The greatest record of all was set another couple years after that, after 2.601 was released, around the time of the humble bundle if I remember correctly, but it might have been before that bundle. In any event, the two highest points were years after release. |
I think it is technically *possible* if the positioning was right and you were lucky, to shoot a plane down before it did anything at all. The per shot chances are low enough though that it is pretty unlikely. It is much more useful to shoot down loitering strafe planes from either side. |
Cyridius, did you miss where peter explained how AA actually works in a mechanics sense? Each shot has a certain small percentage of bringing down a plane. Planes don't have hitpoints, they don't take cumulative damage. They are balanced based on how many shots are fired. An Ostwind has a higher per-shot chance of bringing down a plane and a Quad has a smaller per-shot chance. It's balanced by the Ostwind firing fewer shots per barrage than the M5. Pintel-mounted MGs have yet a smaller chance because that is not their main function. |
Yeah, the multiplication of possible capping units, in addition to the reduced number of points to cap, result in massive swings of the map in short order. I don't think that support units should be able to cap when they are set up. |
