Thread: Usf pack howitzer29 May 2018, 23:56 PM This isn’t a balance thread. I’ve been out of the loop for a little while (since the patch that nerfed out kubelspam I think) so I literally don’t even know what’s going on with this unit. Have there been any changes since then? Because the other day I was playing a game where I was just barely holding on so I wasn’t paying very much attention to it when I built it in the lategame but I thought it had an increased autofire range or something and it made me wonder if anything has been done to it. Also I swear I saw it blow up like 8 guys in a blob which might have been just rngesus. In: COH2 Gameplay

The radar or some other form of observation can then become an upgrade similar to command vehicle that could add penalties to the vehicle. Giving the valentine t70 recon mode would actually be a straight buff imo. Most maps don’t have enough shotblocker a to propose a serious problem and with valentine style maphax it can’t move (IIRC could be totally wrong I don’t use this garbage commander often) and it doesn’t reveal FoW which wouldn’t matter except that indirect fire (which the valentine radar is supposed to spot for) has large scatter penalties when firing into FoW. So if that’s what you’re going for, sure but I just want to make that part known. Also it would let the valentine recon for concentration barrage (and any other teammates offmaps) like it used to when it could fire in FoW. In: COH2 Balance

Not to mention off-maps. And I'm not talking about strong points, I'm talking about trucks deployed on the third line or even pretty much next to base. They shouldn't be more vulnerable than other factions HQ buildings when deployed in such locations. And if that ain't getting fixed at least the repairing should be less dangerous because you have to use a 300MP squad and repairing under arty fire is absolutely necessary to keep it alive unlike normal HQs. They can be destroyed before a counter can be coordinated. That’s a necessary extension of being able to put the buildings outside your base and having pretty decent benefits based on their placement. You can’t have risk vs. reward without risk. This commander is fine for the average smuck who only plays compstomp, but should never have entered automatch. +1 Emplacements without the commander present the exact same problems, just a little less so. They’re just a stupid mechanic that should have been downsized or changed into something else completely. Unfortunate because playing brits without emplacements can be very fun but it’s also not fun to have a gimped tech structure because half of it sucks and is unviable most of the time. "Early warning" is a Recon "Concentration barrage" is practically an "Off map" for all practical purposes (it is simply delivered from on map indestructible guns). It can be used to destroy an on map artillery piece. *can be used to mildly injure the area around an on map artillery piece and maybe tickle the crew if you get lucky. Also getting anvil locks you out of hammer obviously but otherwise lefh isn’t getting countered with arty. In: COH2 Balance

Then the rifles have to break cover and run around and will not be protected or putting out the maximum amount of damage they can do while the command tank will be pretty much fine. Also any non braindead USF player would refrain from wasting riflemen by putting bazookas on them, and 4 bazookas is 200 muni so probably not going to have many BARs on the one other rifle squad you have. Point is, no one is ever going to have 2 rifle squads with 2 zooks each and if they do they'll lose the infantry game by a large margin every time. In: COH2 Balance

And IIRC only far acc was changed and medium range slightly shortened so they’re still good at (a shorter) medium range and close range, making them especially good on commandos despite being cheaper. Thread: Strongest Faction?24 May 2018, 22:27 PM I think soviets are overall strongest because they’re not as hard to play as ostheer and are very versatile and strong at the same time. Ost is probably second IMO but I agree with what you said about it being much harder to play. Nothing beats actually having all the tools to succeed. In: COH2 Gameplay

They show off stuff like throwing back grenades, crawling on back, towing stuff with vehicles, the stupid cosmetic stuff, rocket strikes, driving a tank through buildings, etc etc. Just try to throw in as much shit as possible because they add all this stuff. That jackfrags video has some insider info that talks about alot of that stuff. Rewatching that trailer showed alot more than I thought that was just scripted events the first time. Yeah I was really disappointed with the trailer from a tone standpoint (it ran like a CoD trailer and looked way more chaotic and arcade-y than even battlefield is supposed to be) but from a mechanics showcase standpoint it was actually very good.
