Thread: Are Stats in ModBuilder Up To Date?13 Jul 2024, 07:42 AM Woops, I remembered it wrong. The contents of the instances folder must be saved in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes 2 Tools\assets\data\attributes\instances In: Lobby
Thread: Are Stats in ModBuilder Up To Date?12 Jul 2024, 05:27 AM The modtools are outdated, I think since april 2020. However, the stats are datamined and converted to xml: https://www.coh2.org/topic/111697/updated-modding-tools-xml-file Credits to Hash_Silencer Li! These new xml files can be saved within the modtool folder (see readme) and the tool will interprete them correctly. In: Lobby
Thread: Modding Commanders - Custom Unit Deployment25 May 2024, 17:17 PM Finding the cause of lag is very hard. Overall, the AI itself consumes a lot of CPU and the game does not utilize many cores. Pathing is the biggest problem. The larger the map and the more AI players, the more lag. There are some settings in ai_settings\default_skirmish_<difficulty> to reduce the amount of parallel actions and how long it remembers locations. I set pathing_theat_memory_duration from 120 to 30. And I use in tatic_retry_timeout_defaults a minimum of 3 seconds. Besides that, abilities with filters, aura's and interval_actions also have a bad impact on the performance. OKW's Forward Receivers is one example of an ability that causes lag (abilities\west_german\always_on_ability\dispatch_ability\sws_halftrack_forward_receivers). The combination of always_on with the timed_action should really be avoided. In this case, the animator_set_state action can be directly in the action_table, without the timer around it. If lag appeared recently, then retrace your steps. What kind of changes did you make since the last test? In: Modding and Tools
Thread: Modding Commanders - Custom Unit Deployment22 May 2024, 17:16 PM Hi, Although the files in the category 'commander' can be cloned, but the game does not use them. Which means it is not possible to edit commanders that way. There is a workaround! Each commander unlocks 5 upgrades. These can be found in the category 'commander', select one of the ability links and press the spacebar, then the upgrade link is shown within the ability. If you make a custom ability and set the requirement to one or more of those player upgrades, then the ability will be unlocked after a commander with the upgrade(s) is selected. It is important that the new ability is added in the player ability list in the category 'army' > abilities. Without that the ability will never be visible. In: Modding and Tools
Thread: Attribute Editor closes immediately after loading up4 Feb 2024, 15:41 PM It sounds like this problem: https://www.coh2.org/topic/63599/attribute-editor-crashing-immediately-after-start The lasts posts mention they fixed it by deleting this folder: C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\SEGA\Relic Entertainment\Company of Heroes 2\Attribute Editor (or move it to be save) In: Modding and Tools

Thread: Why listening to the community isn't always good.31 Aug 2023, 17:32 PM Jump back to quoted post31 Aug 2023, 17:06 PMjesulin Can someone give me a fairly convincing answer about why they don't implement community maps (from Nigo pack for example)? Is there some kind of official statment about this matter? I read a message from Rosbone saying that the map editor is very buggy a couple of weeks/months ago. Isn't MonolithicBacon working there, a community map maker? This was posted today on the CoH3 discord, the reason being legal stuff. No idea what makes it different from community content in CoH2. "We're still working on other things behind the scenes that aren't on this roadmap. Community Maps are one of these. Because of all the legal work we have to do, we were not confident as to be able to make it happen before end of this year." - Gabby_RE In: COH3 Central
Thread: Relic and Org need to update their banning policies12 Jun 2023, 06:37 AM Jump back to quoted post26 Aug 2022, 21:34 PMRosbone I do not see this as negativity. I see this as truth. Different post, but I feel the need to say that you were right all along and I was very naive. I am sorry about that. (Context for others: I was annoyed by the negativity before release) In: COH3 Central
