They are same archetype, but their performance and potential differs massively. AEC is better support for and against infantry, while Puma is actually a light tank destroyer The Puma can't really reliably defeat medium tanks by itself without a lot of veterancy. But they've both got the firepower to penetrate a medium and, in pairs or with ATG support, can win that fight. They're enough of a threat that a medium has to respect them. The Stuart, despite ostensibly being an AT unit, is pretty much helpless. The best it can do is blow a load of munitions on Shell Shock and run away. If the AEC and the Stuart were in the same tier, I don't think you'd ever see Stuarts. In: COH2 Balance

It's not particularly viable to be your main medium AT. Support sure, but not something like the puma or su76 or even stug. That's what I'm getting at. Thread: 1000 IQ USF fix8 Nov 2019, 11:51 AM This suggestion suggests you don't understand why USF's tech was overhauled in the first place. USF used to be .50 cal/M20/AAHT and ATG/Pack Howie/Stuart, and it sucked. Lieutenant tier had two AI vehicles, meaning one was always redundant, and Captain tier had both all the AT and no suppression. The overhaul made both tiers fairly well rounded: Lieutenant had a suppression unit (.50 cal), an bleed unit (M20) and an AT unit (Stuart), and Cpatain had a suppression unit (AAHT), a bleed unit (Pack Howie) and an AT unit (M1 ATG). You're suggesting undoing all that. In: COH2 Balance

As for how you'd rework it? Make it more like the AEC: slash the armour, improve the gun, give it some new, less janky abilities. In: COH2 Balance

It's a really odd unit that utterly dumpsters T2 Ostheer but is pretty much useless against anything bigger. Making it fill a niche like the SU-76 (good against mediums in pairs or with a Sherman, doesn't utterly dumpster LVs) would then give you some space to specialise the Jackson. In: COH2 Balance

Stormjäger Let’s see why all this is a horrible idea. 1) Earlier Scott 2) AI will again have a stroke while you’re facing it and won’t be able to tech up, same thing with okw AI rn. 3) M10&Scott combo will have plenty of AT and AI, allowing you to close out a game way faster with a big fuel advantage and avoid teching costs, which is why Cmd Panther got nerfed in the first place. The Command Panther was tied to tech because it allowed you to completely skip 300 MP 135 FU of teching costs. How much earlier the M10 and Scott hit depends on how you split that 120 FU. It doesn't have to be 60/60. If M8s and M10s are enough to carry a game themselves, why does USF need the Jackson in the first place? In: COH2 Balance
