first of all riflemen was made not only to be the strognerst USF power but for their versatility riflemen and shemran were desight to be versatile riflemen bye bye smoke bye bye defense state only grenade and AT nade at least give them sandbags to not get supressed and you think its well balanced UFK 2 FREAKING LMGS behind heavy cover again if the enemy is in heavy cover and you move to be aggresive you will always lose so riflemen will always lose for exable vs grenadiers and thats bull plus volks you think they are worst than riflemen you think so frekaing 250 manpower with stgs field upgrade behind cover getting vet and sturms around with kuble cant break that stupid line and if you are unliky all shots from riflemen will bounce to kuble armor
Firstly, lmgs cant fire on the move, and tommys are disadvantaged out of cover. Being behind cover and losing 40-50% models firing weapons (im not going to do the math for dps) if you are moving makes for DEFENSIVE infantry, this is VERY different from OFFENSIVE infantry, polar opposites even.
Secondly you are speaking as if i am saying tommies and volks are fine, i dont think they are so you can fuck right off with that whole "reasoning"
Thirdly im not even sure what the DPS of tommies slinging mgs has to do with rifles building sandbags as a balance argument is supposed to do, they dont face eachother and have different roles.
Rifles are king of combat, they used to be king of combat AND utility but bad players focusing only on their mobile firepower helped decide that being able to face down almost everything head on and being able to smoke anything that they couldnt was a bad design decision.
Volks can build cover because sturms dont. Sturms assault then when their impact has lessened fall to auxiliary roles like sweeping or AT or building obstacles or repairing, they have enough jobs as it is. Rifles DONT lose potency nor do they have 15 other jobs to do. If you take away one of REs job because bad players want a do it all unit to spam you reduce the depth and diversity of the game
And hell if you are so uppity about volks having sandbags why not make a thread about them losing it? Id support stripping them of it (maybe MAYBE even the faust) when they get STGs just so there IS more diversity because no drawback upgrades are bad design- just like no drawback infantry is.
