Siege mode is a bloody extra. It doesn't HAVE to be used. It's a niche ability but the tank is (finally) completely usable without it. Siege is an extra it can do. Not it's primary setting anymore. Use it when you can if it suits the problem you are facing. |
The best way to make T4 more accessible is to make it worth going after in 1v1.
This is something I agree with. Before the last price reduction I had a thread about how Ost should get stuff with each battle phase that way you WANT to get BP3 even if you plan to use t3 units and then escalating to t4 is less of a big jump since you are already part way there (if that makes sense)
Like imo grens damage reduction should be not tied to vet but instead a battle phase. Cost reductions for the med kits or Bunkers or even general weapon upgrades could be tied to the battle phases just to make it actually feel like a battle phase instead of a worthless half step of tech. |
When did i say that rangers lacking smoke was issue to me? I said i was fine with it
Apologies, I misinterpreted. At any rate, they don't only have thompsons, they also have BARs and zooks as well as enough slots to scavanage. |
If it's going to crumble it needs a cost reduction. There isn't any resource costing thing in the game that simply degrades. |
Rangers ulike other cc oriented units dobt exactly have way of closing in by themselves. They dont have armour or sheer 6 man durability, smokes or sprint. They must use abilities commanders have and im personally fine eith it. I only dislike the lack of choice when it comes to upgrades, only reliable choice being thompsons.
Except rangers are not cqb infantry. They are good out to medium ranges even with the Thompson. Ass grens and ass engies are cqb infantry as they lack dps out at range. Ass engies ALSO lack smoke, armour or sprint because it's easier to list the units in the usf roster that DON'T have smoke. Try combined arms, the game is actually built around it. |
The only way to make t4 more accessible at this point is to make it free. Seriously, it's the most accessible it's ever been. Make it much cheaper and just delete t3 at that point. |
OST T3 has the StuG, which completely changes the equation. If you go for the AI-focused Ostwind, you can get a 90 FU StuG to back it up.
If you go for a Centaur, your AT options are the 110 FU Cromwell or the 155 FU Firefly.
Neither are good options. The Firefly is terrible as a lone AT piece, and the Cromwell at best matches medium armour.
The only thing keeping the Centaur a realistic option is its huge AI advantage over the Cromwell. If you narrow that gap too much, you kill off the Centaur completely.
I think this is a really good assessment of the match ups. It's kinda like if you took the OST panther and gave it normal medium tank AI. sure the brumbar would be better, but would it be enough better to ever be worth building as a dedicated AI unit? Obviously it's less dramatic of an issue than that but I think the core remains. |
That is true, but it depends on the rocket speed etc. could be changed. Or would you say Katjusha, Calliope and Mattress are op?
My spot is, the Panzerwerfer was the only mobile weapon-platform was able to change direct fire with mortar-mode. So, why not simply use the most logical solution? ^^
Because it's unnecessary and people who want it to be able to tank multiple shots and remove the travel time are not interested in learning how to use it properly and changing the format of the weapon to cater to this who, again, don't want to learn how to use the current one properly adds unnecessary work and takes resources away from actually under performing units and mechanics like the entirety of the British faction. |
Imo it is exactly why katusha is more useful=better (you no longer have this squad is exaggerated and requires really much better micro than from opponents' to make it work like that - same skill level it will be "you wasted your barrage again")
If you judge by area denial then yes the area denial weapon is better. Funny how that works. |
Normally you see no protectors for Artys, maybe the OKW-base. With luck you can set the bomb with ease. You can kill the crew is secounds with gun-fire, decrewed supportweapon will be a fuk. I can't see the problem.
Goliath is better, because it is way more difficult to use it. And for that it is still UP versus vehicles. But that is an other story.
Yes but you still need to get a squad to the arty, that is likley right outside their base, kill the crew, plant the demo and hopefully get out alive. The depth and cost are absolutely justification for being able to OHK a big gun. That's quite literally the purpose of these abilities on these units. |
