Winter Balance Patch Episode VI: Attack of the Scope.

It still looks good to be honest, but if this "scoped" patch fails to deliver in relics eyes you should consider making an independent mod together and noscope the shit out of balance.

The focus lays on together though, because if this endeavour fails and all of you return to your own mods, we will have concurring versions of the game (after relic cuts patches) and a community that is tiny already, will be split even more. I think you should think ahead and use this experience to set the foundation for future collaboration to make one community balance mod that could become the only way to play the game (competitively). So consolidate your efforts already. All of the balancing team have interesting appraoches to fix the game in their respective mods and they always miss something compared to an other mod, so it'd be nice to have all the good stuff from your respective mods in one place.

On the other hand, on the offchance that this endeavour is viewed as a succes by relic, despite the very scope that they put onto it themselves, I hope that relic extends the scope so you can actually start combating major issues in a holistic manner - like it should've been done in the first place. I can understand that relic might want to test this whole ordeal of course (hence the scope), but the bar that they've set with their own balancing is very low.

This if memory serves me was adressed.
If the squad building it moves 5 m away, it will be destroyed.
All friendly units will attack it if they are idle.

This was finally and thankfully adressed in WBP 1.4

“Ghost Wire/Sandbags” is the name for a common exploit in competitive play which allows partially completed fortifications to block movement. While unfinished fortifications could be destroyed by small arms, they took several seconds of focus fire to destroy what could be placed instantly. To compound the issue, several infantry-borne weapons would take significantly longer to tear down unfinished obstructions.If players want to impede enemy movements with barbed wire and sandbags, they now have to fully complete constructing them.

Unfinished wire/sandbags/tank traps (aka ghostbags) will self-destruct automatically if there is no longer an infantry squad (owned by the same player) within 10 yards of the unfinished fortifications for 5 seconds.

Nothing too special, OST spearhead vs. USF heavy Cavalry.
Features mortar HT, late sniper, Jackson vs. P4 and Tiger, lots of dropped BARs in a 45 minute long game.

At this point we might aswell equip individual models and keep doing it after each reinforce. You could make it like a freezetime in counterstrike. Buy armor, grenades, molotovs, SVTs, Nagant or PPsh and also flamethrowers or ptrs. You could also give penals c4, so you can plant it on a VP or in the enemy base. Then, a minesweeper squad would act like a ct with defuse kit...

Point being: This is getting too complicated. Not necessarily the changes that have been done by now, but the direction where this is going. I am concerned that our work might be jeopardized by a well-meant approach, but too stubborn and detailed explicit options after changes.

Yeah, removing raketten cloak also sounds more reasonable than anything else. Cloak, only when stationary. No more creeping around please, but this is a diffrent story.
