What if i tell you, that M5 halftrack, 250,251,222,MP 40, MG 42, HMG 42, GrW 34, old PZ IV, Tiger, old Panther, G 43 and many other things were moved to CoH 2 from vCoH with minimal changes.
P.S. And even they looks better, than model of regular T-34.

Theme: Use the power of heavy tank guard assault battalion, equiped with the most potent soviet heavy tanks IS-2. Guard regiments will provide their expirienced troops for support, and Air Force will provide extra firepower for smashing german defenders from their position.
2 Command points - Guard Assault Infantry
- Equipped with six SVT-40 Semi-auto rifles.
- Can be upgraded with double DP-28.
- Have the same abilities, as regular guards.
- Price 340MP.
- In comparison with regualar guards, they more effective vs infantry, but cannot fight with vehicles on themselfs.
6 Command points - Fear Propaganda (Not sure about that)
- Identical to other doctrines.
7 Command points - Self-repair
- Identical to other doctrines.
12 Command points - IL-2 Air Support
- Cost - 250 ammunition.
- Spawn two attackers IL-2, which will provide support in designated area.
- One of them use it's 23-mm canons, second one using it's RS-132 unguided rockets.
- 3D-Model has these rockets.
13 Command points - IS-2 Heavy Tank
- Get new veterancy ability - fire single HE shell (idea from miragefla iirc).
- Get increased damage to 200, to make it more effective with premium mediums.
- Regualr mediums still require 4 shots to be destroyed.
- Possibly fuel price increased, but only on 10-20 fuel.
Strategies and Rational
Current doctrines with IS-2 not optimal, because IS-2 with shocks doesn't give anything against armor, but IS-2 itself. Also, it mostly designed to be played on close or urban maps. Second doctrine doesn't have anything special against infanrt, except IL-2 loiter, and supposed to be played mainly on open maps. Moreover, it requires a lot of fuel to be played, and T-34-85 really better.
Additional Context
There is no real commander, designed like soviet guard heavy armor battalions. And there is no commander, with most well known way of using IL-2 as a carrier of unguided rockets. This commander will be representation of soviet late war guards army. Also, guard playstyle (in oppisition to shocks and conscripts) will finally get commander with IS-2.
1. We take model of guards without green coat and give it to "penals". It looks like on the screens below:
2. Rename them in the "Strelky" (Riflemen in russian), or Riflemen, or Regular Infantry Squad. 3. Change their portrait to match with new model. 4. Give them neutral voicelines. Before neutral voicelines, but for tanks, get Soviet Sherman.
Variant 2:
1. We take model of guards without green coat and give it to conscripts.
2. Give model of conscripts to "penals". 3. Rename "penals" in the "Strelky" (Riflemen in russian), or Riflemen, or Regular Infantry Squad. 4. Change portraits of "Strelky" and conscripts to match with new model. 5. Give neutral voicelines to "Strelky".

P.S. I don't like this commander suggestion. It's extremely stereotyped. My post only about penals and strelky change.
They using icon from Ostheer medkit, which heal only one squad. I suggest to change their icon on variant from USF ambulance and medics, because their ability working as an aura, just like comm and IF ability.

Smoke Raid Operation
For some reason using icon from regular raid operation in the game. In main menu everything is fine.

I keep wondering why the community team keeps not adding your suggestions.
That's not true. Ckeck out changed units, abilities and upgrades from the last commanders patch, they all have their own new icons, except some small issues, which i believe will be fixed with one of future hotfixes.
Also, a lot of stuff were fixed with in-game files during previous community patches.

- Flak 38 anti-aircraft mount on base sector renamed to Flak 38 firing position to distinguish it with Flak 38 from doctrine (base variant doesn't shoot planes).

Long time passed, time to update this list. Fortunately, some issues were solved! But some new was found.
As a start, i want to show issues with british forward assembly.
1. Using icon from british medics for field hospital upgarde, other fiels hostipals using unique symbol.

2. Field hospital, for some reason, using aura notification from advanced assembly. It's confusing. It should be removed, because other field hospitals don't have any notification like this.
3. Advanced assembly, after all changes, become simple repair station upgrade, with addition like building repair. New icon should better match for it. Also, it will mix well with field hosital upgrade.
