This also includes units like the panzerwerfer. I think you actually confused the issue more... The original question was(if not mistaken)if the "concentrate fire" ability improves the performance of the Lefh. I do not think that the original question was about "Coordinated Fire"... But testing did not imply this to me - shells seemed to be loaded at the exact same rate in spite of the buff appearing over the howitzer squad. It seem barrage "magazine" is the number of shell fired that a reload bonus does not benefit a howitzer. there was similar situation in Coh 1 where the aggressive vetting of the Hummel would only change the time between shells fired making the defensive vetting far more efficient... I'll test it. main difference here is that howitzer use barrage not auto-fire...they crew might fire their weapon better but I doubt there another bonus. In: COH2 Gameplay

Quick, someone give a 3rd LMG for rifles to deal with these. Someone, please torch these threads... You are actually missing the point the ST44 upgrade as some others make the VG perform much better mid to close while they retain an slightly improves their long range DPs. The LMG upgrade for Gren is much better because they continue to have the same role as along range infantry. As I also explained the same problem exist with riflemen getting lmgs. This is not a specific faction problem is problem with giving wrong weapon upgrades to units with specific roles. Gren and VG are designed to fight riflemen and conscripts far and tommies close to mid. By giving the ST44 in its current form one is actually messing with the relative positioning of units. A upgrade that would increase their far DPS more and their mid close less would be far more suited. One could just call it ST44 on "single shot" mod. In: COH2 Balance

LMG on Tommies do not change the role of units since it remains a long range unit. LMGs on riflemen is also problematic because it changes the role of the unit from a meduim range unit to an all range unit. (double lmg are questionable) Two wrong thou do not necessarily make a right. In: COH2 Balance

The weapon does not follow standard weapon profiles (as other weapon upgrade also do not follow)and increases the far DPS of the unit (although slightly) while vastly increasing the mid and close performance. That upset the balance against other mainline infantry like riflemen and conscript who are meant to have an advantage in mid to close ranges... In: COH2 Balance

The "coordinated barrage" does affect them since the fire with victor barrage and not the normal. Victor barrage has more range. In: COH2 Gameplay

The fact that COh2 was closer to a beta than a balanced game did not help, nether that fact that Relic introduced 3 different faction with completely different mechanic. Or the fact that some of those faction lost their unique features and went closer to one another, or did the fact that Relic continues to overnerf or overbuff things, nor that most patchs come with game breaking bugs. Balance patchs are continuously need to fine tune units or to shake stale meta if the factions are balanced but units are not equally cost efficient. On the other hand Relic imo first should fix long lasting issues like bugs, veterancy bonus and abilities and other issues that makes certain units or commanders unattractive. These changes are overdue and can remain untouched for several "balance" patches. In: Lobby
