Quite simply: it depends.

But for a rule of thumb on the lower and mediocre ranks with random mates: draw battle lines, don't split too far apart.
In team games you may face more than one enemy at any given point, so spreading too thin usually ends up in a lot of bad fights. It's also a bit more exhausting, so sticking together a bit is usually a more chill approach.
As a start it's rather recommended to get your "natural" (the fuel / ammo points on your side of the map), then work from there. In a nutshell, if you play a more mobile faction, you should be more agressive on the flanks, with a more defensive one, you try to bottleneck more - to keep stuff contained.

owh another thing, how do u win engagement as OKW agains IS?..

i mean i always send my volk in green cover vs IS in yellow, but in the end, my volk is the 1 losing the battle,
n for some reason i thought that rushing in with volk before he enter the cover would be a good idea.

but it seem, only a slight like 2sec win engagement where after he enter any cover,
even when u in point blank range, he still manage to kill alot of ur volk,

i want to use kubel by i know he will make UC instantly if i do that, soo i make kubel after my 3rd volk
if i fell like needed.n plus i feel soo helpless to deal with brits sniper + AT cover n infantry.

i just make 1 kubel at that time to flank n yolo at sniper then force retreat, but still end up in a losing battle,

Hey I watched your replay and here is what I noticed:

1. You upgraded to AT nades when there was not really the necessity for it, sure you want to anticipate vehicles that might come, but usually early axis vehicles are not that punishing if you have no at nades before minute ~7.
Molotovs in early game would've helped you more, your enemies were blobbing hard and had bad micro in general, your team mate used them and did a lot of damage in early game with them.

2. You were floating always a lot of munitions, but not putting down any mines or demos - that's something very important to do as soviet to get some lucky wipes on the enemy or keep your flank secure on minsk.

3. At one point you had to steal an MG42 early game, but instead you decided to push to the medic hq with 2 cons squad. There was really no reason to do it. Your enemy can outreinforce your attack and it will be fought off. It's important to get a "feeling" when you can push and when you should fortify your position (mines) in order to fight of an incomming attack.

4. Your Kattyusha was the right thing to do and 2 Kattyushas would'e been even better to dislocate the axis fortifications, especially on minsk you can't really dodge arty in a 2vs2.

5. Try to counterpick the doctrine choice of your opponents, they had fortification and elite troops. You had an ISU commander for it, kinda the perfect choice for minsk when your opponents don't have a Jagdtiger/Elefant as you can't really flank it on minsk when all the flanks are mined.

6. At some point in the game you and your team mate were not really working together, it seemed like you both played like 1vs1 while your enemies stayed always together in the middle. Especially on minsk team work is important.

1.yeah i upgrade AT cause i thought i would be dealing with Kubel or a fast 222, that's y i upgrade it fast, n if u see, i manage to anticipate where the enemy MG,

2.yes my mistake is not putting mine which i lack when playing with any faction, u could say that im a bad timing at putting mine cause, when im about to put the mine, there always some unit will discover the mine,

3.alright i keep it in mind not to atk at their FHQ, i thought if i did that i would bleed them, cause when i was OKW they do that to me i bleed to the point where i cant even reinforce anything. soo yeah i keep that in mind,

4.was scare to go 2nd kat as im lacking at AT n have no confident to protect 2 Kat.

5.now that u mention it, i kinda forgot i got that ISU, god damn

6. =( this is the worst part that i cant argue, this is the mistake that i make n some advice would be ok here, i kinda do feel like playing 1v1 at 2v2, where i dont even know when n where to help my teammate.
