The Cromwell gets a faster reload at both Vet 2 and 3 instead, giving it a reload time of 5,930,70,8=3,3208 seconds. That's a pretty massive decrease. The smoke shell is also useful, and it can get emergency war speed as well. The Sherman has almost the same AT performance as the Cromwell, with 140/120/100 vs. 135/120/105 pen and the same accuracy and reload time. It probably has better AI performance with HE ammo. But like the PIV, it's also easier to hit and less mobile than the Cromwell. All in all, I think the Cromwell is a bit better than the Sherman. Sherman would have a better AI performance, if it wouldn't be shooting kilometers away of it's target. While cromwell is a good sniper. Of course RNG sometimes can mess him up, but... It's only "cost-effective" and "good and rewarding" (BTW probably the only UKF unit apart from sappers that this can be said about) But sherman is definitely not better. Cromwell has a simillar penetration, and much bigger effectivity against infantry. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: How to rework emplacements15 Dec 2015, 19:23 PM There are two, quite frustrating things about those emplacements: 1) Indirect fire rekts them way too much. You spend a lot of resources on it, and someone takes it down like you kill enemies in an FPS game. Point and click. 2)That brace ability, which means that a player can perform a large scale operation to draw attention of supporting forces with weaker part of the army and then quickly attacks the emplacements with supposed counters like AT guns. And guess what? Enemy clicks brace, and... So maybe brace should be removed, while emplacements should get immune to any sort of indirect fire (+ maybe little help against flame grenades) In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Dear Relic12 Dec 2015, 20:37 PM The reason why people blob is obvious- more units are shooting at less enemies. Which means that if you implement some aura of units and if more than 3 or 4 units get too close to each other, they get negative bonuses (of course in HQs and medical stations, it would be disabled)= job done, no blobing. Blob counters are often either unreliable, or have a bad effect on non-blobing gameplay (demos and goliathes) while this aura would have no bad effect at all, except for possible bugs and maybe losing half of the already low player-base. BTW if someone comes here trying to tell us that blobing is just a tactic which works, I'm gonna be really salty In: Lobby

They are based on constantly keeping a pressure on the enemy, unlike Brits whose best moments are, when they're diging in, so being forced to get back to base is painfull. On the other hand, it is a negative side of the fact that you can put double 30cals on riflemen which makes them almost terminator squads." I only think that medical car carrying weapons would be weird. Maybe give them supply tracks coming every five minutes for free, like OKW originaly had. In: COH2 Gameplay

Im no fan of limiting the amount of units cos that locks you down in certain build. It just limits the way you can play the game. Thread: It's time for some alternative ways of balancing 5 Dec 2015, 14:11 PM If the game if ever supposed to get as perfect as it can be, you (Relic) can't handle it only with things like stats of units and costs of units. So many pathces and we still haven't got rid of blobbing and spams. In one stream, i heard that "blobs will always be in the game". However, they don't have to be and they won't be if you will add some aura of units and if more than three units will stay to close to each other, they get a negative bonus (of course this would be disabled nearby of all medical stations, HQs and such things) Another problem are spams. Why not to simply make the unit unavailable for making once it already has a number of "friends" on the field. So each faction can have only 4 engineer units, only 3 core infantry units, only two same tanks, only two same TDs, only two same supporting weapons on the field at the same time. (Of course, it would be avoided by kiling the crew and then recrewing, but better than nothing) Quickrushing units isn't so terrible, but also it could be solved by simply making it unable to come before certain minute of the game, no matter how much resources do you have. Now, someone's surely gonna say "why not to simply make more blob counters?" Well, blob counters can have negative effect on other units, for example democharges are perfect for clicking off expensive vet5 squads. While the negative bonus aura couldn't have any negative effect (except for bugs obviously...) In: COH2 Balance
