The clown car term was coined back in 2013 specifically for the M3 Scout Car when there was a squad riding in the back.
There is no literal other reason to call a vehicle a "clown car" if it doesn't or can't hold troops that shoot out of it.
UC without upgrades is just a basic transporter, that's it.
If you don't believe me feel free to google it.
Wow
Ok, so 3+ years of my life have been a lie. Well, shit…b
Now we gotta figure out a good term for what I wrongly mentioned as a definition of a clown car.
Any ideas?

Just to clean up on that Clown Car term:
Its an LV that´s armored low enough to get forced off by substantial amount of small arms fire.
So yeah, UC fits that quite well.
And by the way, I can only agree with the third point of OP- faust for volks (lock flame nade behind truck instead)

BTW what is the problem that everyone has with Lierneux.
I can see the problem with Trois Ponts, but can´t spot any glaring issues on Lierneux. |
Build your own lefh and counterbarrage or take that 50 fuel they invested into the arty and use it to pressure them. Soviet are the worst faction in the entire game at holding ground. Take advantage of that.
Funny how a 2015 thread is still incredibily relevant.
However, I think these long range indirect fire units should be forbiden from shooting into the base sector |
For some weird reason, I dont see Moscow winning
Thats a great opportunity bein missed here |
Remove the crew
Follow by giving all USF vehicles an ability to:
Self repair and capture territories (activatable at the same time)
(A vehicle that spend 5+ secs under small arms fire in repair mode gets abbandoned, 10+ secs for capping mode)
A new ability for US armor: Transfer- vehicle is reassigned into teammates army
A new mechanic for US armor: If T is pressed at the right time before the vehicle dies, a vehicle crew unit hits the field

No.
Not just for the Brits having none
But overall, the "one or two factions dont get what the other four or three do" is IMO an unfortunate application of assymetrical balance. Ofc nothing much can be done about it in CoH2, but for CoH3, i hope they stick with the "one faction gets what the others dont"1 |
The problem will still arise in 2 squads vs 2 squads. If in cover: you will die from the flamethrower, if out of cover, the other squad will get you.
But thats exactly whats supposed to happen
Bring your own flamer, and if u dont play a faction with one, bring whatever advantage you have... |
Hmm, if u face OKW only, they can still have some effect, as they only face either soft-counters like Leig, or a late comin hardcounter, like Stuka.
But yeah, its no doubt the worst MG in the game. A suppression buff so that its halfway between the old OP level and the current one, would sure be deserved.
P.S. Vipper, this is a bit off-topic but dont you know whether USF weapon crews (50. cal and Pack howie) have bigger target size/ lower survival-ability, compared to their counter parts? |
Maybe, but unfortunately, PTRSes are too terrible even against LVs, to be specialized AT, so they would need a buff elsewhere if their AI gets removed |
