We live in a world where AOE weapons are plentiful Sherman/T34.76/85/Crushwell/Comet/120mm/Landmattress/MTemplacement/Calliope/USF.MT/ Katusha (and soon to be nerfed) Stewart/T70/(whatever the British light tank is) For what i mentioned above all those have the capability of wiping a ober/falls squad instantly and it happens quite too often. Coh2 isn't all about fire power it's more about surviving RNG AOE hits. I never liked the concept of 4 man squads, even more so when the enemy has rocket artillery and AOE weapons like there is no tomorrow. In: COH2 Balance

In this case, having the same weapon that is effective yes, not as effective on the move but as effective while static is a first step in my opinion. In: COH2 Balance

Volks actually beat rifles at long and mid range quite reliably if both are vet 0. Volks are surprisingly equal matchups to rifles so long as they don't have weapons or vet. As long as the volks don't get caught out of cover they are quite formidable. I haven't tested unupgraded rifles and volks with max vet though. The fact that volks can lay sandbags is huge. But most importantly is the disparity in infantry healing. Ambulance keeps the entire USF infantry force in top shape. OKW needs to go medic truck and invest in medics, which, all costs aside, is time consuming. Hurt squads lose engagements like nobodies business. Yes I agree with you when it comes to vet 0 engagements, it can and does go anyway. It comes down to positioning and skill. My point is, is that rifles (imo) are good enough not to want to pick a commander with special units, why do you think you see Pershing or calliopes every game. There is no need for rangers or paratroopers. You equip them with bars and yes they perform well. My problem is is how well they perform on the move. If relic refuses to implement something that punishes blobbing (probably due to knowing 75% of the community will leave the game) they need to look at what promotes it. Maybe even a decrease in moving accuracy or something I dono. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: The American BAR21 Mar 2017, 13:57 PM This is what I see most games I play (2v2) The American starts off with some respect of skill, spreads units, uses cover, uses strategy etc. then it seem like at a drop of a dime it becomes the (no nade upgrade) Bars start appearing and the blobbing starts. Usually starts off unsuccessful, but then the calliope starts. Or the landmattress, or even the USF motor knocking out my MGs Meanwhile the blobbing starts becoming vet 2/3 the LMGs are more and more. Understand there are two type of blobbing, senseless blobbing with most if not all the USF units And then there is the "skilled" blobbing, where there are 4-6 riflemen but split, 3/3 or 2/4. Backed by a motor/calliope. Which brings me back to the fact that OH does not have a unit that effectively knocks out blobbs or deters them, such as as the oswtind or p4. Riflemen are able to walk up and around these units with the odds of a wipe or a hit being low. The USF player knows that OH tanks are unable to really punish for blobbing let's say as a Cromwell or comet or Sherman could etc. Now as for the 1919s that have to be at a complete stand still to fire, I'm proposing a slight nerf to bars on the move but a buff to them being still. Someone can work the math out to where the 1919s still out perform in the still category. In: COH2 Balance

In a vacume yes I did see that vet 3 PGs beat vet 3 riflemen with LMGs, when was the last time you seen green cover in late game? It's all yellow or red by then. And not to mention most engagements involve indirect fire as well as movement. There is a reason why USF blobbing is so common. My goal here is to simply change the BAR around to a point where it's effective still, just in a different way. In: COH2 Balance
