No, it's not. The game was literally designed around using doctrine units to counter stock units. Do you think the commander system exists just for shits and giggles?
Not because Obers are better, but because the LMG34 is very good. If you want Obers to be less bullshit then the solution is to make Ober's better, but remove the LMG34 or make it a 120 munition upgrade.

I'd rather paras and even they can help take the flak truck out just pop smoke with a rifleman squad, sherman or another source onto the truck and other the paras to plant a demo charge on it one wont take it but a big chunk of its health is gone
USF still needs substantial amount of resources to take a building out (COH2 never had this BS game play before WFA). Why can't we have a game play where players are awarded for tactical positioning, cut off, and battles, why waste time on destroy tech buildings (it's a stupid design)? Problem is not destroying the building, the building itself is too good for for it's cost, suppresses infantry, substantial damage against medium armor, locks down cut off points. I guarantee you if this building was not limited to 1, players will spam this across the map. This is from 1 v 1 perspectives. |

I just wonder how you can defend this buliding which was designed to cover point from which OKW get 200% income, while this feature no longer exists. It was designed for something which we don't have in game anymore.
It's like, let give USF Pershing so they can deal with King Tiger. King Tiger is removed from the game but Pershing is still here. It would be quite similar.
It's pure assholness in 1v1. 1v1 is about capping, but you can't cap because of this unit building.
Soviets have plenty options but USF? You can't do anything until Sherman, and even then it will be pretty hard.
Can't? I saw plenty 1v1 where OKW has lost T4, yes still was able to make second and Panther without big problems.
Not to mention, this building can damage ALL (even skill planes) but heavy armor on the field. You are right about 1 v 1, this building completely negates cut off game play. |
they can with airborne. in 2v2s and higher youll want your teammate(s) to help you as well, since the flak HQ is big objective that you and your team should try very hard to destroy.
if you dont go airborne, and LT tier, a jackson replaces the AT gun. obviously your attack on the flak HQ will be delayed since the jackson comes out later than an AT gun. if you go captain tier, fighting pits + enough riflemen in green cover are a big enough deterrent in dealing with enemy infantry.
in addition its helpful to have stolen paks or mg42s obviously.
See how much effort it takes to destroy this building? Not to mention, the map has a huge influence on how Allied players can handle this situation. Add this to compounding problem of committing 25% of your troops for this task while Axis player is free to roam the map and do all kinds of damage (map control, ambulance hunt & flanks). Lastly, the areal denial on this truck makes it difficult to pull off mid game (he/she can sit on a fuel point until then). The whole point of this truck is to keep opponents from cutting off OKW (slap in the face for COH2 tactical play). |
I hate in 1v1 when he places it by his cutoff. I can deal with it when he places aggressively so I actually have a chance to kill it, but when it's on his cutoff literally the entire battle is forced to take place on YOUR cutoff because you can't decap anywhere near that thing.
Quit kidding yourselves about AT gun being reliable way of bringing it down, unless you send 2+ medium tanks, a heavy tank, or always target your arty on it, it's not going down, especially considering how fast sturms can repair it b/n arty shots.
I think they could fix this problem and at least partially Schreck spam if they made this thing a munitions upgrade. So you can either spend 90 munitions on Schreck, or save 120 to get HQ. But you shouldn't be able to lock your cutoff for the entire first 3/4 of the game for free and force opponent to dedicate significant force of his army just attacking one thing for the POSSIBILITY to harass your cutoff.
