They are not part of your army, they are not supposed to be on the front line and as opposed to emplacements, you lose nothing by building them in your base. Emplacement is a UNIT for brits, it costs popcap and upkeep, it can vet, there needs to be a way to preserve it with stuff like walking stuka or sturmtiger on field. Brace is supposed to protect you from short assaults or quick nukes and it does exactly that, you can't retreat emplacement and inb4 PaK43 argument, you can protect it by placing it behind shot blockers. Ah, and you can´t place mortar emplacements behind shot blockers? In: COH2 Balance

Come again? Grenades wont do anything. I actually have to agree with this concern. OKW heavy vehicles cost you an arm and a leg and thus are a rare occasion. Unless you have been totally outplayed, you aren´t going to see more than one Panther on the field (talking 1v1, 2v2 here). Now it seems - and before people get annoyed I emphasize: Seems - that OKW vehicles are hardcountered by an entire faction. It hardly makes sense to field the heavies (Panther, Command Panther, KT, Jagdtiger) versus UKF. I´m not against a hard counter versus OKW vehicles. But on the other hand the resource penalty doesn´t make sense, if you don´t have better units. We will have to see on release, but it remains a concern for me. In: Lobby

Yes, mortars and late game artillery are two entirely different pair of shoes. If you are under 152mm, Katjuscha, B4 or Priest fire lategame, an Ostheer mortar won´t help you winning the game at all. Neither will the current Panzerwerfer. The (late) artillery game always goes to the Soviet player. In: COH2 Balance

Maybe even too good. 2) Thus the reload time went up. It performed well. 3) Then out of the blue the performance was nerfed. It became shit. I´d like to see it perform like it did back then (Nr. 2). The increased reload balanced it. The lack of heavy non doctrinal artillery cripples Ostheer on specific maps. In: COH2 Balance

The fight could go either way. Often what happens is the 251/17 will suffer Main Gun Destroyed, giving the Quad an easy victory. Due to a bug, if the Quad gets Main Gun Destroyed, nothing will happen and it will keep fighting. In a vacuum maybe. In a real game the M5 wins as soon as the Flak HT starts to move. I just don´t see any reason the M5 should be allowed to fire on the move. One of the biggest issues with the M5 is its squad wiping ability by chasing down retreating squads on the move. Both vehicles serve the same purpose like the M5 while being outclassed by it. The OKW flak HT looses in a 1vs1 against the M5. And of course the M5 can reinforce. They all have the same hp. I think the best thing would be to not allow it to fire on the move like it´s the case with the other hts. I don´t see why the other Flak hts aren´t allowed to do that and the M5 can happily chase retreating squads and wipe them. In: COH2 Gameplay
