That´s something I´d also like to know. There seems to be a bunch of new bulletins for the old factions with two buffs. Su-100 is just as justified as a KT, Panther and the super heavy call in TDs. It is fair and sqaure that they get access to That and elite non doctrinal infantry. In my opinion, the whole sovjet faction needs a major redesign. I already said it: THe combination of 70 range and the speed and maneuverability of a medium tank chassis would lead to an untouchable vehicle. Elefant and ISU aswell as the JT are slow as hell, which justifies their range. Another super range unit would suck, I think everybody should have recognized that by now. It´s just lazy. Park the unit and destroy stuff. Some people just need to accept the asymmetrical game design and balance. Germans get better non-doctrinal tanks, so what? Russians get cheap mines, the (imo) best medium tank (T-34/85) or another game-breaking super-unit (ISU). In: Lobby

An su-100 would have a gun of an elephant while also retaining much better mobility at the cost of being less armored. But of course it would be alot cheaper too. And if it doesn't, then it will overlap too much with the su-85 which would make it pointless, so that's why the su-100 shouldn't be added. Which would be totally overpowered. For the same reason I´m glad no Jagdpanther is in the game. Imagine 70 range with medium tank mobility... untouchable. As long as those don´t have the same range as regular tanks, I don´t see any hope with that. In: Lobby

Jagpanther = elefant gun , which would mean it would have 70 range and 320 damage. Looks more like halfway in between 88mm and 75mm. But that´s not the point. Its armor is poor compared to the super-tanks armor - and those super-heavies are the ones that get the super guns in this game. The SU-100 still looks like a Jagdpanzer IV to me and both performed pretty similar in combat. This theory-crafting doesn´t help... In: Lobby

Thank you, I waited for that answer. ^^ It´s inside a doctrine - Ost is the only faction who has to use a doctrine, even if the Hetzer was ingame. The Elefant is utter garbage. I can´t get one single kill with it any longer. Every half decent player just drives out of the arc of fire. If you are lucky, your first shot hits and at least damages the enemy tank. Versus players with a brain, you won´t get a second shot. Not worth 245 fuel. Once it´s flanked it´s done, as it´s super slow and super clumsy. It´s overpriced and not comparable to mid game standard tank destroyers - which the Hetzer would be. And even if the Hetzer was lackluster, it would grant me larger successes than that block we call Elefant. In: COH2 Gameplay

Looks like a good doctrine to handle medium tank spam and I like that. So if it´s true, that looks like a good job from relic there. Don´t be so negative all the times. In: COH2 Gameplay

Yes, that´s also an answer to the topic. Though the thread starter was smart enough to not include this option. ^^ First make all tiers and non doctrinal vehicles useful (SU-85, T-34/76), fix over-performing (ISU-152)and under-performing (Elefant) call ins and then we can think about adding a SU-100. Adding such a unit before getting rid of the problems we are facing right now, will lead to unpleasant situations. In: Lobby

Thread: Relic please delete the elephant and the Ost sniper. Please!26 Sep 2014, 11:02 AM I agree the Elefant is effectively nerfed out of the game. I built it twice after the last big patch and it did cost me both games. Usually it can get off one shot (which will hit or miss) and the enemy retreats. I never see it getting any kills. It can´t escape any attack. It can´t pursue enemy vehicles. It can´t even finish them off if they are driving straight into it - as all vehicles can just stay out of the 70 range. Effectively a useless vehicle. The sniper is fine with that rate of fire - it´s super effective versus the US and Soviet T2 openings. In: COH2 Balance

They have similar armor and gun, gun Jagdpanther better, but the SU-100 is lighter, more mobile and easier in service Jagdpanther and SU-100 had roughly the same speed... 46 km/h vs. 47 km/h. The gun on the Jagdpanther and Jagdpanzer IV was superior in reload speed, flatter trajectory, accuracy. Add to that superior ergonomics etc. and the Jagdpanther/ Jagdpanzer IV are effectively the better performing machines. The frontal armor on Jagdpanther, Jagdpanzer IV with the long barrel and Su-100 was 80mm, 80mm and 75 mm - all roughly the same and with comparable sloping. No clear advantage for the SU-100. Actually I consider the Jagdpanzer IV the better machine as it had a height of only 1,85m. The SU-100 had a height of 2,24m and thus is spotted more easily. And any gun over the calibre of the Jagdpanzer IVs 75mm was pretty much overkill. Could we get this on topic? I´d like to see the game balanced rather than new units. In: Lobby
