in coh1 this sort of thing was handled better because there was more stuff to buy with your munitions, most commander abilities required a good number of munitions and stuff.
now most commanders tend to just be call ins or passive upgrades, and sometimes maybe one of the commander abilities is a munitions costing ability.
especially at the mid game and beyond.. i never really find myself actually looking to see how much munitions i have. if theres a place to throw a grenade i always do it. if i buy a unit with an optional upgrade i always buy it etc etc. By the time i get the chance to spend munitions i feel like ive saved up enough.
LMG upgrades ought to be good. just you ought to also be trading off something else your army could have to buy it. |
they need to just make heavy tanks more rare/expensive as they were in coh1. heavy tanks were a very calculated decision in coh1 because of the combination of tank limits/tank manpower cost/cooldown timer/limiting to one heavy call in per match
That sort of stuff makes the heavy tank a high end weapon with lots of value AND lots of risk.
coh2 kind of leans towards heavies as just being a part of the standard tech progression. You build them just as easy (or in cases of most doctrines- easier) than any other tank.
If they increased the risk factor of heavy tanks i wouldnt even be against buffing them to account for not being able to call in multiples and the like. |
its an MG its supposed to suppress your infantry when they walk right in front of it, the whole trick, just like any other MG you have to come to it not from the front. if it was nerfed to the point that you could walk straight at it and kill it before it suppresses your infantry then it would bassically be pointless. |
85 are too good, they are in 10 CP for a reason.
requiring t3 to get the 85 would actually increase the cost to field them..
this is a general flaw with all call ins though, if you opt to not go t3/t4 and rely on call ins, the superior tanks you can call in are actually cheaper than your core units. |
This is exacerbated by the fact that Sturms are so expensive and not the best of combat units for their cost. They should get a decent sweeper not one from the junk heap
uh what? sturmpios are on the top 3 infantry in the game list |
i never realized the piercing rounds would take out a light vehicle in one single burst. thats nuts. |
their only non doctrinal mortar/arty harassment are:
pak howitzer : bassically a joke, vet ability is better.. but if youre using it against anything besides a garrison its not going to do much
howitzer carriage: pretty good, comes very late game though, leaving you high and dry in all those early and mid game fights where mgs are holding you down
major arty: late game, and completely hilariously bad. the best use for it is that it deploys red smoke so you might trick your opponent in to thinking that youre firing real arty.
however.. i wouldnt say the lack of arty in options puts the usf at a huge disadvantage. the m20 utility car (which you can pull out very early) and the stuart light tank can be used to deal with MGs and foward structures. the usf does have the best light vehicles, compounded with the fact that they can be brought out earlier than other vehicles.
I agree not all factions need all types of units.. but i think its really the USF that is the only faction that is "missing" units (elite infantry, heavy tanks, and artillary). all other factions have bassically no gaps. |
Su-100 definitely. It is a pure AT vehicle that could help Soviets late-game against Axis. If it is a nondoc unit it would be great! I don't think the Soviets need an SU-122 or ISU-122 since they already have an assault gun (152).
BT7 would be quite cool but since USSR already has T70 in the game, it could be redundant.
Nice list man. Good to see some Soviet love.
how would it differ from the current tank destroyer in terms of ability though? |
i thought when you buy thompsons it only gives the thompsons to two of the members? |
Given that the game isn't always completely stable, and that people can have internet connectivity issues on occasion through no real fault of their own, I feel that simply not getting time on your warspoils drop is as much of a penalty as should exist.
im pretty sure that this is already the case. its just not a very good deterrant because war spoils have a high combinationof very unlikely to drop period and if one does, its very likely to just give you another faceplate that you already have that its not really a motivation for anything.
If theres a specific commander or bulliten you want its incredibly unlikely you will ever actually get it. |
