Is having alt accounts a bannable offense in tournament? You also need to specify if you're talking about his alt accounts while ranked matchmaking, or if he did sign up for OCF, ESL cups orw/e other tourney with an alt account. Paula to my knowledge never got banned from OCF or any of the ESL cups, so why bar him from an invite for this tourney? Pretty sure the same problem was brought to attention on this forum too many times. Paula having a lot of alt/smurf accounts is no new revelation. Everyone and their mum knows that Paula smurfs, has many alt accounts and etc, but that isn't a good reason to not give him an invite. Paula has played in the tournaments he's signed up for with his main account, so I don't really see why Relic would decline Paula an invite since he would be playing on his main account, and he's never cheated or been disqualified from a tourney before. Not only that, he acted disgracefully during ESL. Deliberately making opponents wait and breaking time rules. I have no clue what went on behind scenes, so I'll trust you're being 100% honest and truthful. Yes, Paula did do some moves to stall some games, but it appears it was sorted out by the ESL admins since the games were played eventually, and since he never got DQ'ed I assume he stopped those kind of antics when the ESL admins got involved. SO with that being said, Paula didn't conduct himself 100%, but is that a good enough reason to not invite him(Who FYI is one of the best coh2 players in the community) to a high level tournament? If we were to go by that logic that Paula didn't get invited because he acted disgracefully, then why is Price and Barton on the invite list? Hell, you can even look at the Olympics and any other competitive sport tournament to see that a lot of athletes don't exactly conduct themselves properly 100% of the time. Paula got warned by the ESL admins and followed the rules...that's good tournament conduct But of course yeah, you should be able to blow like 50 chances with Relic and still get free invites just because you play the game quite well. That ship sailed there if you've seen a few of the people on the invite list All i'm saying is that high level competitive play should be prioritised. I'm not alone in believing that Momo and Dusty have less accomplishments and are less skilled than say people like Paula, DevM, Aimstrong, cruzz, and etc. The invites make it seem like high level competitive play is taking a backseat to people who are on good or relatively good terms with Relic. Dusty and Momo's invites should've been given to Paula, cruzz, DevM or Aimstrong. The way I see it, tournament invites should be given out to the best players in the coh2 community, granted they haven't cheated in past tournaments. Players like Paula, cruzz and etc haven't cheated in any tournaments, so they should be given priority. Etiquette and such should be non factors considering trash talk, cold shoulders and etc do actually happen in real life tournaments and even the Olympics, yet those athletes who do so don't get barred from playing since they're some of the best the sport has to offer. Same thing should be applied to this tourney. So a few people at Relic don't like Paula and/or prefer Momo and Dusty over cruzz, Aimstrong, DevM and etc, who the hell cares? Paula, DevM,cruzz and etc have far more accomplishments under their belt, better leaderboard rankings and etc compared to Momo and Dusty. Relic definitely played favourites when they picked the invites, which is a shame since tournaments are meant to display high level playing. In: Lobby |

Thread: Update on the 27th preview24 Apr 2016, 09:16 AM
this is becoming more and more like vCoH And that's somehow a bad thing? ![]() A lot of overreactions by people, and surprisingly a lot of people complaining about the ProKW changes even though they don't play ProKW much. The balance preview changes look really good on paper, and i'm saying that as someone who mainly plays ProKW and the British Army. I've personally always wanted panzerfausts on Volksgrenadiers since forever, and now it might actually happen. People seem to forget that Raketens can't shoot very fast and fast mobile vehicles actually hardcounter it pretty hard; right now you can literally drive any kind of vehicle past a raketen(doesn't fire fast enough) and a few volks and get your vehicle out alive. If these new changes do go live, suddenly ProKW will have a way to severely slow down/snare light/medium vehicles, which the Raketen can fire at afterwards. Let's not forget about the people who crutch on panzershreks to win their games though, i'm sure they'll be devastated and I feel sorry for them ![]() Once panzershreks are removed, we can finally see who the good ProKW players are and we'll see players who crutch on them fall a few hundred places on the leaderboard. Gee, I wonder how you got banned ![]() As a few others have pointed out, when Relic released coh2 both factions had mainly early and mid war equipment, vehicles and so on with a few exceptions like the Storm Rifle. The faction was designed and based off of popular stereotypes and popular movie portrayals like Enemy At The Gates, so that's why you see the communists using early war equipment and etc combined with mid war equipment. Since coh2 is no longer only about the Eastern Front(Early-mid war), every faction released has been getting even more late war equipment. We got the USF, then ProKW which was using mostly late war equipment, units and finally we have the British Army, which managed to beat ProKW in the technological department. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Because they believed CoH2 to be focused exclusively around the Eastern Front, since it was marketed as such and so having Western armies in CoH2 seemed impossible in their eyes. Those same people also thought that having the US Army would ruin immersion and thus ruin their enjoyment of CoH2. It's why I still facepalm when people say "X army/unit and etc will ruin immersion". Immersion was thrown out the window a long time ago, and they're still complaining? It's too late now, if you want your authentic immersion, you would have to cut out a ton of units, maps, weapons and create new one's entirely from scratch and that won't happen. In: Lobby |

People are actually claiming that the Japanese Naval Landing Forces can't be in CoH2 because it breaks "immersion" ![]() We broke immersion a while ago when you could play as the US Army fighting the Germans in Stalingrad and Eastern Europe, or communists fighting the Germans in France. We have early WW2 technology/equipment combined with late war technology/units so we're well beyond the point of no return. I'd personally support the Imperial Japanese Army being included in CoH2, since it would be refreshing to see a Panzer Elite-esque type faction(Heavy focus on versatile infantry, light vehicles and mobility). The Japanese were also the only Army in WW2 where officers carried swords into battle ![]() If that doesn't pique your interest then nothing will. Another thing to take into account is when people said that they would stop playing CoH2 if Relic included the Americans into CoH2 a while ago. The playerbase actually increased and alot of the people who were complaining and ready to quit CoH2 never did ![]() The same thing will happen if Relic announces the Japanese faction; people will say "Japan can't be in CoH2 because it breaks immersion! If Relic does this, i'm quitting CoH2!" and when Relic actually does release the faction, those same people will still play CoH2, and the playerbase will increase. In: Lobby |

Essentially the same then ![]() Molotovs almost cost as much as a Scout Car but not quite there, squire. the actual performance is about what you would expect from 15 mu.. Its animation is long enough that an mg can pack up and its range is short enough it doesnt have to. Compared to the incendiary nade where you can toss it in half a second, it will deal damage as it his and it can be thrown from farther away the molitov is GREATLY out classed. Spending 15 munitions for force an MG team to relocate is a damned good deal to me. It's even better if you're able to force a retreat via the Conscript squad that forced to pack up or another flanking squad. The Volks Incendiary grenade on the other hand, you have to pay a hefty 30-40 munitions which is about half the cost of a panzershrek, so you can't be throwing them sparingly unless you don't want any panzershreks for some reason. If you're paying more munitions for the damage on impact, and if the enemy dodges it, it almost a waste of munitions. Honestly, I don't see why communist fanboys insist on the Molotov being bad. Flanking, forcing MG and support weapon teams to relocate and/or retreat is important in engagements. If you're able to force an MG team to pack up and potentially force retreat it, that's 15 munitions well spent. The reason the volks nade is a better investment is because it works. Except it's not an investment, it's a straight up pay out via a large sum of munitions. Molotovs can be considered an investment because you're spending 100 MP and 15 petrol to get access to much cheaper anti garrison and support team grenades. 95% of the throws will connect vs an mg (even a maxim) Vs players who can't micro perhaps. I've played my fair share of the Allied factions(British Army mainly) and the only times a Volks grenade has landed on one of my MG teams or Infantry Sections is when I was trying to micro squads in 4 different skirmishes. If I see a Volks that's within grenade throwing distance on a flank, I retreat my MG team; if the Volks charge infront of my Vickers or Maxim, I take a burst then retreat. additional problems with the molotov are the higher than normal target size om cons, the better supression on the mg42 amd incremental accuracy/aoe supression So one of the reasons why Molotovs and Conscripts are bad is because of MG42 suppression? Usually, you want to flank an HMG team, and not run on front of it hoping to throw a grenade before it suppresses you ![]() The very fact that you reference MG42 suppression as a reason why molotovs/conscripts aren't good is enough reason to discredit your claims. Suppression only matters if you're in front of the MG team; if you flank it from the sides ot the back, then the suppression won't affect the Conscripts ![]() which punishes bigger squads harder. Its basicly the same thing as giving allies more AI vs axis smaller squads (or higher armour values vs garbage pen for axis) Its overkill. I guess that's why a lot of communist faction fanboys want even more anti infantry for the their faction ![]() Kinda like having cheap nades on a faction that has nothing else to spend muni on.... (as in the price of the moli doesn't matter, it could cost 45mu and the soviet would STILL float) If you're floating munitions then you're not spending it on mines, doctrinal upgrades, vet abilities and etc. Also if you think volks nade and moli are the same in all but name shows you are delusional They function the same, the only differences is in cost which the Molotov is better in. For someone who plays as much as you you think you would notice these things... If you question my credentials, I'll gladly 1v1 you and we'll see who's more qualified to talk about balance. I'll play my British Army and you can play as the OP Axis ![]() In: COH2 Balance |
