Sadly these can only be spawned only while the vehicle is "deployed" so it cannot be made into a ghost and made to move, he used the hull down state to cover up stuff sticking out of the models. It's voodoo and magic trickery as far as I'm concerned of which I understand little lol.

This would be awesome, during the "rank crisis" in 1941-42 Wehrmacht used a lot of improvised paks on the vehicles like 250. It would fit historically, close a weakness of OKW and would make battlegroup more attractive.

Unless you plan on using it like the Flak HT it's not going to work since it needs to be deployed like I already said.

The Sdkfz. has to be in hull-down (or something similar) to make something like on the pics. Because we have to work-around the animations, e.g. like OKW base transforming into an emplacement.

At the moment I am working on something similar.

Yep. Literally a Flak HT with a Pak 40 instead of a flak turret.

Or like the 250 halftrack's suppression mode if it needs a pack up time to animate tearing down the gun?

It could replace the Opel Blitz in Feuersturm!

From what I understood from Widerstreit, basically you would have a covered top 251 drive to some position, you press a button to deploy or hull down or whatever, cover pops off and a Pak 40 comes at the front like in the picture instantly from nowhere. I also believe the gunners would also be floating inside.

It would be far too beneficial for Relic to enable back model editing and importing into this more than 5 year old game.

We will be looking into possibly transferring the Observation Bunker's traits and abilities into a vehicle, based on all you guys' feedback.


Sound really interesting. How do you see this unit work? It's gonna more like ostheer uhu version or will it have any combat usage?

Yeah that's really neat. I think having it as an upgrade for 251 would be a great way to go about it. I just want to bring up the question of whether it would still be allowed to reinforce, though I honestly wouldn't see any problem with it.

As nice as these animation are, I personally would much prefer the 250 HT over the 251 as the command vehicle. The 251 is just so, eh....

Is it possible to allow for the deployed 251 to un-deploy and then move somewhere else? That could make this ability very useful and interesting, I think.

If it is possible, I think that it should replace the radio bunker. I think that this makes a bit more sense than a bunker.

Yep. He just hasn't got around it because it's a prototype. If you want to see something similar go play All Units mod with the OKW or Brits. The unsetup ability basically is just the setup but in reverse.

Well, then I would really like to see this 251 in the base game, maybe it could have more abilities than only flares and FoW enemy detection. Maybe something like radio silence in a radius around it?

Yeah, in my mind it's a twist on the OKW 223 but it comes unarmed and ungarrrisonable, visually explained by the covered top so it's basically useless while mobile. While setup however again in my mind it would get the radio relay and forward retreat point.

The original idea was a 250 HT instead but Widersteit wanted to use the so far unused covered up state for the 251 plus it was much easier to fit the 223's radio antenna on it as well because it's a longer model.

But if it would serve in some form of combat role maybe the 250 could be used Idk. Or just have an MG for self defense if nothing else until it deploys because the mod team wanted the radio bunker to be camouflaged so it makes sense.
