This thread is now an odd topic. Interesting, but off topic.

If you are going to arrange games between you, that's great. :thumb: But the Moderators cannot split threads.

I should really invis the last load of posts, but I do not have the heart. However, could one of you start a thread in Scrap Yard for this epic match and link it here? Otherwise the invising wand will have to appear from now on.

We can now go back to topic, if the OP wants the thread left open.


May I suggest that it is moved to another section? not sure if this thread can be recovered.

On the issue of Penal they are simply too strong for the time frame (with the recent changes it seems that SP have also become problematic).

Regardless if someone manages to balance them or not it make the game RNG depended. For instance:
if these units manage to get first in strong point or happen do be on negative cover when the first come into contact with enemy units it can completely change balance.

Imo the should either be delayed or come with less DPS and have weapon upgrades available to them.

In the case of Penals (and a number of other units) their vet bonuses also need to be looked at.

With SP you refer to OKW Sturmpioneers? How are they problematic?

i think he mean with the reduction to build them and the reduced reinforce they could be used early game to shut down cons and team weapons

I dont see that at all. If anything SPs could need some RA buff. They drop models too easily and when they are down to 3 they can even lose to Cons. They are useless other than point blank range as it is anyways. They are also overtasked having to sweep, repair, fight infantry, fight tanks, lay mines etc

Not anymore. Conscripts tear them apart now.

OKW is basically "turtle or die" now against Soviets in the early game, and even that doesn't always work.

Everytime a penal model dies, should have a chance to retreat. It's the only way to balance such an OP unit. I mean Penals can beat up Obers and parry a King Tiger shot, this unit must be dealt with.

I have won 4 games in a row now as soviet 2v2, with randoms in my team no problem

I have spammed nothing but penals and rifle guards


it is so damn good, that in my last match I still won a 49 minute game
with my teammate leaving at a 22 minute mark


So like I said, have fun cherry picking my first 2 games with soviet in a year this morning


What do you say now, naysayers?

I felt bad for the opposing team, they were calling bs on satchels

2 satchels destroy a p4

I believe a panther as well

it is insane how easy it is to win as soviets



I started playing after not touching the game for a while. The penal performance is comical. Assault grenadiers up close? Lol, no problem. Vet 3 P4 reversing with blitzkrieg enabled? Lol, no problem as long as the animation to throw the satchel started. Mg in a building? Lol, no problem let me throw one satchel and level the building.

I play all the factions beside Soviets. To me it's a no skill scrub faction. Everyone has opinions and that's just mine.

SVT are badly designed the same same way Vg's ST44 are badly design.

The weapon have a a almost linear DPS curve allowing unit to be very efficient at all ranges.

Iirc svt maxes out its dps at range 10 too.
