its a multirole tank bro. what do u think should be done? leave its AP rounds garbage? or make it penetrate heavy armor at a fair rate?
The ISU-152 wasn't intended to be a Tank Destroyer at first, so this is not the question.
Furthermore, as a Tank Destroyer, the ISU rather used HE shells to knock out tank crews. Like for the IS-2, we're not searching for penetration here, but for gross power.
( But i'm not saying that an ISU-152 that don't pen a Pz.IV is normal though )
But don't expect to easily pen a Jagdtiger or a Tiger II with an ISU or an IS-2, big caliber guns and not expected to be use for anti-tank role. So on this point, the game is more or less realistic.

when i use an elephant...im super confident almost every single shot is going to cause havoc. when i use an ISU on say a tiger. im Praying that ill pen...and its dmg is much weaker then an elephant. isu is still stuck in AP no matter what anyone says its a anti tank role when its in AP mode. it should play a good role. while its on field it still cost pop. u still had to pay insane amount for it. why should it suck. dont understand. ppl must not want it to get a litte more pen. i never defend bad balance on thread cuz im worried relic will change it, to many ppl doing that now days
It's supposed to take long, the idea is that you decide if you want an Assault Gun or a Tank Destroyer. It can be good at both because changing configuration can't be done in 10 seconds. Compared to units like the Elefant, who can't do it at all, it's a pretty good deal.

austra why do u comapare JT and ele pen to isu if the isu is having trouble penning med/heavy armor. dont make since dont matter what those tank have. allies armor so weak it dont matter they getting penetrated. and on top of that there dmg per shot is really high. this thread is about how the isu puerce armor not other tank penning armor

And when you use Elephant, how many times it wipes plenty of infantry?
You can't have long range great AI and AT. You must sacrafice something.
ISU sacrafices little AT in order to get great AI.
Do you consider JP IV, Jackson or Panther as a garbage AT? Becasue they have worse or similar AT capabilities to ISU.

range dont matter if u can close in very quickly, lower dmg? i doubt its by alot if any. i think dmg is same. and it cant fight blobs on AP mode....

this exactly....would be great but ap deflect doing 50% is to much unless if u mean like if they didnt change its penetration? then deflects will always cause a little shave dmg?
OKW's Pz4 - 234 armor;
Brummbar - 260 armor;
Here my solutions:
Increase ISU's AP penetration to 260 at far distance.
OR
Give 50% deflection damage for AP. So ISU can always deal minimum 120 dmg per shot.
AP's penetration can be even lowered.
