Hand to hand combat?

I know DoW2 had it and the coh1 ww1 mod had it and they both worked very well. I think would be a great way for cons to scale better and it would enable a Japanese faction. Thoughts?

Would require new animations - too costly
Cons loose half health anyways when they engage - not worth it

This has been asked a couple of times already and i still higly doubt something like this gets implemented.

I can see it now...

Cons oorah into grens...

Models teleport around and buggy animations occur...

Then bug splat.

No thanks.

Cool thought for CoH3:Empire Rising but not CoH2.

I thought it was agreed that it'd be CoH3: 1942?

Yeah not so sure hand to hand would go down so well.

On that side note that has been raised. I think CoH3 Africa, perhaps some parts in Italy. I think SP campaign should be primarily German based. Then do CoH4 Pacific theatre, twin SP campaigns USMC and the Imperial Army. IMHO I think this would make a great many people happy.

It isn't that buggy or even costly as i said look at coh1: ww1 mod and dow2, I'm sure they can just reuse some of the animations if they needed

Wasn't it supposed to be CoH3: Crimea assault?

Just imagine new mechanics, 2 armies, one pretends to be modern, another pretends to not be there at all.

The possibilities for meta!

Complete with brand new, never seen before units like the SU-76!

the point of melee, at least in coh2, is to tie up units. your grens may lose to the shocks but if they tie them up in melee the shocks aren't using their guns.

it wouldn't be very buggy either, there are very few issues with melee in dow2 and a lot of the problems are things that aren't in coh2 (sync kills).

not really needed though.

There are more Shocks than Grens though, like 2 more Shocks that would still have their guns assuming each man goes 1v1 on each other.

Lol conscript spam with the melee feature would win every game. Oversized squads + surplus of squads shooting while the other guys fight.
