Can somebody post what this upgrade actually does. i have searched for it but never could find the answer. thx in advance.

30% armor.
Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

What Katti said, that gives you 208 armour (from 160), which is more than a Panzer IV (180) but less than a Vet 2 Panzer IV (234). That makes it better than stock Medium Tanks (Panzer IV, T-34/76, M4A3), but still worse than call-ins (T-34/85, Easy Eight), with the exception of the Soviet M4C to which it is on even ground.
