Personally I say no since they can't fire them on the move and it's a nerf for DPS at close range if I'm not mistaken. Ideally you want officer for CQC maps and you'd want to maximize that role. I would say the exception is when you want him for something else like Recon Pass on a more wide open map where the Brens would let you use him less as an Assault unit and more of support role.

No dont do it, you will end up with a squad that's still bad at longrange and now kinda meh on mid and close range

You need more brens? Get more tommies. ALO should be for CQC only, since you only get one and you can always put brens on tommies.
