Hello,
its about the 82mm mortar build in the support weapon kompaneya, more precise the Flare ability.

It just doesnt work.
By that i mean it wont fire.
The team adjusts the weapon, the Flare Icon gets a cooldown but nothing happens from there.
I can wait minutes without the mortar doing anything.
Since the unit obviously is trying to get the ability off, it does not barrage targets with HE during that time.
As soon as i cancel the ability, i am being refunded the ammo cost and the cooldown resets.

It is like this since i can remember, it never worked for me.
120mm flare works, sniper flare works, 82mm doesnt.

Is it intended?
Did they want the flare to be removed from the unit and forgot to remove the ablity icon? what is it?

Well, it can take quite a bit of time before it fires at times, because reasons I guess?

Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

Try firing a bit sorter than max range.

I know this bug too. No idea what causes it but it pops up very irregularly.

Recently someone reproduced the bug with the mortar barrage not firing. The sequence was (I think) to order the barrage, let the mortar turn and then cancel it. If you then issue another barrage outside of the allowed firing cone, it won't fire.

Maybe it's the same issue here, or at least something similar. Maybe shift-chained commands? Or really a cancelled order that got replaced?

Does the mortar fire a flare after repositioning to a different location?

It's just a bug.
Both standart mortars, soviet and ostheer one, are sometimes lagging with their tasks: they don't complete barrages, smoke or regular ones, either fire flares.
You can try to "cure" this bug by cancelling all tasks for this mortar and order it to attack-ground. Usually after it fires, bug goes out, but not always.

I don't think it's intended, but I have this bug fairly often. I don't know what triggers it. I've tried stopping and refacing but not really been able to determine why it bugs.
