Thread: Ask the Strategist!15 Apr 2015, 12:03 PM There is nothing wrong with Riegel mines if you skip the fact that it's doctrinal. It's easier to plant them (faster I belive and truck is way more mobile) and they are cheaper. Perfect to protect Elephant from flanks. People dont use them cause they come only with 2 doctrines. And even then, people just forget about mines (like you said).... until they lose. When Im picking up Jaeger armor, there will always be mines at flanks. Mines are very expensive for OST and OKW in early-game. Very risky investment BUT well planted mines can save you from T70 or AA Truck. Plant it on obvious path, narrow passages and bait your enemy go get there. In: Strategy Desk
Thread: PTRS now OP?15 Apr 2015, 11:47 AM To be honest, I have no idea how 4-5 squads with PTRSes destroying weapon is different than Grens blob killing crew and stealing or destroying it with pzschrecks. Same for OKW blob killing crew and then destroying weapon with volks. It's excatly same result, just OST and OKW must make 3 more clicks to destroy weapon. In: COH2 Balance

Him failing to kill it was just weird not really indicative of the Schwer being OP. Anyway, the 9 squad problem comes from the fact you can't make anything but more infantry. The minute I had fuel for a Panther I made it. After that? What was I supposed to do, I had a buttload of MP and no fuel to buy anything else. Remove conversion and give Opal trucks sounds fine to me, Opal are easier to kill than caches anyway and they reward skillful play more as well. But you dont see the point. Non faction can get 9 units blob and spam caches unless you have very good preservation. There is no downside for OKW with caches/opels. Other factions must think if they want get another squad or maybe hold with they have and get caches. It's not the case for OKW. You have blob and you have MP for caches. No downside - huge buff. And sending KV8 to get Schwerer when there is a Panther seems like a bad idea. In: COH2 Balance
