It never happened to me, you must do something wrong when selecting a unit. Also, there is a huge panel in the middle of the bottom part of the UI, that shows units that are currently selected. I always cross check the units that are there with what I expect to have selected. After a few hours in the game, you do things like that without even noticing. In: COH2 Gameplay |

I agree that there will never be better data set than that. Sadly, it still doesn't get any close to being enough to conclude anything. You might have 151 games, which is very little for the number of parameters involved, but even that is divided between 6 types of matchups. You also have as little as around 32 players, which is a very small population. A population way too small to remove individual bias. Especially as results and strategies of these 32 players are highly correlated. All in all data gathered this way can only show current state of the meta, which is what people think the game is and which we by definition know a lot of, but it is very far from showing anything about true power of the factions. And even further from giving hints for informed ballance decisions. I'm not saying that statistics has no way to work in coh2. For example the automatch veto stats were very interesting and the dataset was big enough, even if the results were highly misinterpreted. But the size and quality (correlations) of this particualar set is truly laughable if you would like to prove anything with it. EDIT: Forgot one thing. The map pool is obviously even smaller than the player population. The good thing is that it has much less correlation. The bad one is that its tiny size induces additional bias, that highly reduces the confidence level of any conclusions drawn for maps that were not included in the tournament map set. There are two ways to gather datasets for faction ballance problem. One is automatch. It fails due to low awerness of game mechanics. The other is tourneys. This one fails becouse small number of players induces bias. There is no way around that. The more data you will gather and the smaller the population of players tested, the bigger bias you will get. So the trend in the data will not mean anything on its own. What can mean something is a difference in results between two big enough datasets based on same players, but I highly doubt there will ever be a single tournament based dataset like that big enough to support any conclusions. Most of community agrees ukf is underpowered. So it is possible that community will agree on some set of changes aimed to change that. These changes will probably be implemented and the situation will change in some way. That is all certain. On the other hand, there is no reliable way to estimate effect of such changes, just as there is no good way to measure if they were for the better. This is very important to acknowledge, as some community members try or may try to use small, overinterpreted set of statistical data to prove one of possible directions is universally right. Statistical significance is truly a huge problem here. We have around 30 players that are so good, they are almost sure to beat anybody out of this club in tournament setting. If you try to increase the number of players, you quickly lose on match quality and once you go past top 200 you start to get players who don't even know all the mechanics they can use. This means the data past that point is pretty much worthless. So it is safer to take only best players, especially as the others could also get on that level if they committed so much time. You can try to increase the number of observations, but as the number of players is so small, it is always going to be biased towards that particular group. If there was some other parallel control group, it would surely seize completely different results. That means any stat based, or community vote based game ballancing is just a monte carlo method run in multidimensional space of coh2 stats with "ballance" as a hard to define objective function... In more humanly sounding words, it is simply completely random. We can change the stats, and so the ballance, but we can never be sure that the direction is right. In: COH2 Balance |

The problem with your idea lies in veterancy. If you decrew the emplacement it will lose all of it's veterancy. And you can't simply give veterancy to the squad inside like in case of usf tanks, becouse that will make ukf infantry way too easy to vet. To solve this problem, I would suggest building all the emplecements with a special, non combat squad inside (like old style emplacements) and just give them an option to leave like in case of usf vehicles. Only this squad should be able to man it, or other squads should do it with manpower loss. That way you can keep the emplacement vet on the infantry inside. In: COH2 Gameplay |

OP you can't actually be serious? YOu pay 280 manpower and 30 fuel for a emplacment that shreds infantry , .ight vehicles, armoured vehicles and even tanks in a 360 degree arc. If that wasn't enough its got super armour as well as an artillery feature along with AA abilities. The key here is the word "emplacement". Its inability to move means that it is very easy to kill, so the cost is approperiate. Btw, when was the last time you have seen a bofors in coh2 match? I think I haven't seen a single one since brace nerf. In: COH2 Bugs |
