You don't play games where skill matter nor you have a meaningful one yourself.
You're still at level where ALL of your balance problems can be solved by learning to play.

Penal are an AI. If they upgrade with PTRS they become an AT unit.
Guards that have better AT weapon than Penals are "NOT" an AT unit because?
Alright, since you struggle to understand that:
AT infantry units give up AI for AT capability.
Guards do not.
They can still engage tanks, but their weapon upgrades and their vet ability is most certainly not suited to fight tanks, it does help, but its not primary reason.
You want guards as powerful AI unit as well as light armor deterrent, not as a primary way to deal with tanks, they will support ATGs and TDs with button, but that's it, if you are actually capable to get enough of them to effectively counter tanks, you might want to cut down on 4v4. |

Quite so, because PTRS does not deal heavy damage to tanks.
Its blatant lie to say otherwise.
Its reliable, steady DPS, but you need to be on drugs to state its "heavy" damage.
They deal very good dmg vs armor and infantery. Mostly better than dedicatet at infantery or ai infantery. Aweful.

It is totally easy with sov. It is nearly boring to play them because all units are so strong that it doesnt mater when u make failures. It doesnt count. Make a fail move with okw...and you will punished hard for that.

And for a AT unit like the ptrs guards...which melt down an AI unit...strange. it is like jackson would have better ai than sturmpanzer.

Its like having tommies in late game, but without LMGs or volks without STGs, it simply does not happen, is unrealistic and puts a bias on your "test".
does that mean an AT upgraded penals should still rofl stomp them every time (if penals closed in it would have been worse for the grens). His point was penals with ptrs doesn't have too good AI, clearly they still do.
If you made the test without bias in a scenario that actually is possible(which means grens WILL have LMG), then sure, someone would be rofl stomped, but it wouldn't be grens.

i just tested in cheat mods, fully vetted penals + ptrs vs fully vetted grens. done 5 tests penals won every time , so do u wna continue talking more out of ur backside about too good ai?
What range?
Against what? Upgrades? Cover? Or impossible and unrealistic scenario with no cover and no LMG/STG?
Did you do actual real and possible thing aka penals closing on stationary LMG grens(as anything else is unrealistic to happen and PTRS penals will lose hard on long range against LMG grens), or vacuum pointless test where you placed two squads next to each other and made them different sides?(let me remind you that soviet penals are not eldar warp spiders and can't get instantly on top of opponent).

Since when does the British MG or any MG not suppress right away? Or according to what source, the patch notes? Because in practice, all MG setup squads suppress the same, regardless of suppression output stats or anything else, as evidenced by how impossible it is to walk a unit out of the cone once it's in there even on the edge.
Actually, its perfectly possible to move out of cone and be unsuppressed when facing brit HMG or maxim or DSHK as all of them have pretty low suppression.
Maxim and DSHK had suppression gutted royally and vickers was never good at it in the first place to the point where people asked for lower DPS, but higher suppression. All 3 of these HMGs are fully capable of killing a model before suppressing the squad.
You are also literally trying to argue the suppression stats do not matter, which is beyond hilarious.
In fact, that's the one thing that doesn't make sense about HMG squads: they all suppress in the same amount of time, but some get to deal heavy damage to the point of being hardcore garrison counters, while others barely deal damage to units on the ground and out of cover.
They don't.
Stop pretending otherwise.
I don't understand how that's supposed to be balanced, but since all HMGs are really used for in the end is suppression, it isn't as huge of an issue as some others. Still, having an MG42 team in a building, then watching a British HMG garrison a nearby building, get shot at while setting up, and easily win the engagement with the MG42 team is just BS, and everyone knows it.
Why? HMG42 got lower cost, lower DPS and higher suppression, while vickers is more expensivce and have higher DPS at all but max range, if it got at least vet1, it will out DPS HMG42 at ALL ranges, unless you use incendiary rounds, in which case HMG42 will always win under any circumstances on otherwise equal terms. |
I keep saying: Volksgrenadiers deal no damage with their default rifles, and that's a problem.
They deal almost exactly the same DPS at stock grens, and no one says grens have bad dps.
Now they also don't deal damage with MP40s.
Ok, so quick recap:
Penals and rifles dealing over 30 DPS is massive DPS at CQC, but volks dealing over 50 is "don't deal damage".
And two StGs do nothing against mid and late game infantry.
Nothing more then increasing DPS at all ranges that is.
And who would have thought that faction with 7 different direct combat infantry units is actually supposed to use more then 1.
So what's the point of Volksgrenadiers? They pose no threat, to anyone, under any circumstances. Not at long range, not at medium range, and sure as hell not at short range.
The same as cons, cheap meatshields for elite infantry, but while cons are durable, volks actually are capable of killing stuff relatively quickly.
All the while every single Allied infantry squad is brutal at either one or several of these ranges and has actual non-doctrinal grenades (speaking of which, the fact that incendiary nades have a timer while Molotovs don't is the biggest FU Relic has ever openly given Axis players).
You do realize that inc nades are still nades, all allied faction needs to pay additional fuel and menpower to get their nades and molotovs have not only shorter range, but much, MUCH longer throw animation, even with new vet bonus? MP40 volks are also getting 10% rec acc and smoke on top of mp40 and regular nade. MP40 are the ONLY weapon upgrade in the whole game that gives rec acc bonus.
Don't pretend that axis is a victim here, its most definitely not if you don't ignore completely reality. |
