No, existence of these alternatives does not make FF and SU specialized. Their much higher penetration and lower rate of fire, designed to combat slower or highly armored vehicles is. Accuracy does not play as big of a role, because target size affects all incoming shots, that includes ATGs, which need to combat both, med and heavy armor without 100% accuracy on both and same goes for handheld AT. And making units which are end of tier and capable of fighting reliably exclusively 3 axis units(taking into account your accuracy thing, which would make them unreliable against meds), which can engage a wide range of targets is utterly retarded idea to even think of. The actual controversy here is cost reduction and 50% armor buff. One or the other, lets not get back to relic style overbuffing and overnerfing, usually leaving unit in the latter state. Was it up to me, I'd left the cost where it is, gave it 2 additional armor and buffed MG34 as despite 34 scaling really well, its base dps is similar to that of AEC or puma coax. In: COH2 Balance |

Make spam unachievable. Make the sniper 82hp, spotter less, and make it 400 or more MP. Getting 2 snipers and a single support infantry is then minimum 1040mp. Thats 4 mainline squads and a lil smidge extra reinforcements. Flanking will still be rewarded because the spotter is squishier (plus buffed counters) sniper is still unique. Idk why they keep trying to fit units into special cookie cutter moulds when its clearly different when its clearly not designed to fit. Embrace its design and make the price fit the unit instead of making the unit fit the price That would not make spam unachievable. That would make getting a sniper at all a retarded idea. Recon team often escaped on 1 model and that 1 40hp model bleeds 90 mp each time. While the sniper was still present, it also suffered heavy attrition if you went for it. However the problem is existence of snipers in CoH all together. I never understood why they went with super expensive very high risk and reward unit for early game instead of specialized squad or light vehicle. PE ATHT anyone?
