I have an i5 2500K, 970GTX, 8 GB of ram, which is not top end (especially the old processor) and as soon as more than 4+ squads appear the framerate dips into the 30-40's. Any idea as to why?
CoH is very CPU heavy.
With that crappy processor, you'll get crappy performance.
you somehow expect the b4 to be a satelite laser guided nuclear bomb all the time.
Well, its not a multi shot barrage weapon that might actually hit something during a volley.
Its "you see this sector? make a boom in one of the surrounding sectors" weapon and how does that "performance" excuse its price, doctrinal lock or even existence?
Weapon is completely unreliable at any distance(as proven by Von in 2v2 just recently).
You might just as well be allowed to roll a slot machine where jackpot is maybe 50% health loss on infantry squad instead of shooting it.
Maybe play the game before calling other people "bad" T2 OST shouldn't be required either. By that logic USF is fine and should just get both LT and CPT because they have decent tools in those tiers.
And why ost T2 shouldn't be required?
Its early game tier in a faction that techs linearly and its impossible not to have it before light tanks arrive, unless you didn't capped a single sector for first 10 minutes.
There is no excuse to complain about ost needing T2 and there is no excuse not to have it.
USF is more tricky, the intent was probably to have to get zooks when going T1, but that isn't going to work due to how irrelevant all T1 units are because of "improved balance".
The Soviets have AT possibilities wherever they tech, inorder for OST to actually have AT sources they require T2. Plus guards are dominant as hell as always.
If you don't have T2 up by the time light tanks arrive on field as ost, well, I don't think there is enough "bad" in the world to describe that.
Because the faction lacks a light tank to deal with T70s, stuarts, AECs, AAHTs etc. One of the many reasons panic puma is king currently.
You don't need a vehicle specifically to deal with it.
I mean, look at soviets again, its not like they pick SU-76 to deal with luchs/puma (yes, I know that T-70 beats luchs, but if you want to actually kill it, you'll need bigger punch).
Because of people that want to have it both ways.
Its ok that 50 munitions without a mouse click insta destroy a 270 Manpower + 70 fuel vehicle but it was NOT ok that 90 munitions + 1 click (old demos) could insta wipe a 200 - 360 manpower unit.
Try to argue against this logic, I tried and I failed
This is what always made me sigh deeply.
I also like, how there seems to be plenty of people who believe that infantry should always be able to retreat, but not destroying vehicle, but making it retreat for repairs is considered a bad thing.
I wish we had more criticals, could do something interesting with mines without having them OHK anything above 50 fuel investment.
You're going to have a horde of sheeps coming in telling you how vonIvan made b4 work with bao...blahblah...
Except they didn't, they massed them and still got whooped good most of the time.
It also proves that even massed, that arty is utterly useless resource burn.
