Does anyone feel like getting STG package option back for Stormtroopers? Cuz I would like that as another option.
They were just redesigned into very specific role, that role won't change, stop spamming for stgs, they are not getting them back, you have buffed PGs for that. |
Ost rely on combined arms,I agree this, but I still think Ost Grenadier hard to survival in late game, and Grenadier vet bouns is...too extreme, splitting vet3 receive accuracy bouns like PG in test mod I think will more comfortable——at least Grenadier got some survival bouns in low vet
I agree its harder to keep them alife, but that's still no reason to give them more.
Infantry doesn't do much at that state of the game other then capping and AT-nading. |
Oh God, I just realized that if I want to keep being a US main I might have to use the M3 Lee. I hate that tank.
But really, having a different setting, even within WW2, would be nice for variety since a pretty large part of faction design comes down to real life equipment.
Also, about modern small arms, Western armies usually use their rifles in semi-auto, while other armies doctrinally prefer full-auto. That could be a nice for asymmetry.
Don't worry, US were late to the European party.
(that means no US and M3 belonging to british forces for the lease deal) |
are there some sources about the armament of penal battalions? i once read that some of them were higher officers and political criminals while being experienced soldiers. Thats why some of them got modern weapons. but i forgot my source.
thats why i alwys thought they got SVTs ingame
They were often sent on one way missions, but they were supposed to complete these missions, not run against HMGs and just die.
Depending on the objective, they might've been equipped as elite troops or as regular strelky - they simply weren't expected to return in one piece.
Its been couple of years since I've read about it, so no source attacked. |
In late game Grenadier has lowest HP
They also have support from strongest stock anti infanty vehicle in game, brummbar, which will 2 shoot any squad.
Again, ost doesn't rely on grens, they rely on combined arms, they are not brits, soviets or USF who HAVE to spam and rely on mainline infantry most of the time.
Hardly any infantry is relevant in late game due to existence of tanks and rocket arty. |
1) Its old idea.
2) Its as stupid as it was previous 1000 times.
3) Stop believing everything you see in movies, even penal batallions were well armed when going into combat. |
1. Why would you guys want another ww2 themed RTS? It would be an expansion with better graphics and few new units. Repetitive and boring. Let's be honest we play coh2 because there is no game that has the same mechanics directional cover/RNG/Armour values, tech trees as well as large but manageable individual unit command, so we are stuck with coh franchise for now.
Because early war presents opportunities for more new factions and shitload of "new" tanks and equipment, which would be a nice thematic refreshment from the traditional formula of sucking krupp steel dick.
Because a part of war, where german tanks are most inferior one would be new and unique take on WW2 rts(sorry heavy tank lovers, you'd have only french and british heavy tanks to play with).
2. Cold war era has numerous units that range in the light, medium, and heavy category M1A1 vs T90, Bradley vs BMP 2. There are dumb bombs, smart bombs, mobile arty etc. Coh1 had a modern warfare mod that I thought was great. It wont be all lazers, point and click abilities.
Problem with that is infantry.
ALL of them except for snipers would be automatic rifles. Maybe forced DRM squad. |
I say Grenadier,not PanzerGrenadier,OK?
Ah, keep dreaming then. Its 240mp squad, cheapest mainline inf in game next to cons in an army that is supposed to rely on weapon teams. |
Give grenadier damage reduce at vet2 or more reduce receive accuracy at vet2 I will sooooo happy
It already has it at vet1.
Go and test units first, then complain. |
I like the old Stormtrooper version way better. Currently I dislike the way they are. They are bad. Rely heavily on surprise attacks.
Amazing, right?
Who in his right mind would make ambush infantry rely on surprise attacks.
Insanity, isn't it? |
