Elephant + Ostwind = Most deadly combination.
I dont know how you let your elephant get atnaded, your position must be very bad or you had no scouting (which is weird with the amazing LoS of the elephant, so positioning)
This so many times.
Also wondering if you would now talk 1vs1 because there I also agree that it's quite pointless. I haven't really been afraid of Elephants before until one game. This was in 2vs2 game and they managed to get Elephant in good positions in cut off point so they basically ruled two VPs. There was also few vet ostwinds. Basically they had difficulties to capture that point as well (as we did) but on the long run the Elephant just had to sit back and relax since they had the VP about 60% of time. They knew we needed to push and oh boy when that happened. We stood no chance. Sadly I don't have record anymore and thinking back we could have had other options (push to their base to create distraction) but anyway. It is a beast when played right.
-E- Bottom line, see no point to AT ALL to buff that beast.
Have to agree here with Nullist. Conscripts have their share of unique abilities e.g. Merge and Oorah. No reason to change that unit in any way. Besides, I think the variety comes actually more this way, you have to select whether you want Commander that has better conscripts or do you center your choices around tanks, support units etc.
Great feedback everyone, I'll talk to our producer today and get some discussion going. I just want to say that we want nothing more than to see COH2 be the best RTS on the market. I know there are a lot of people who really care for this game and are pushing to make it better day by day. There are some great things on the horizon, I'm very excited and know everyone else will be too!
Wow, thanks for taking us seriously and trying to improve the gaming experience!
Wow that's a really constructive feedback and definitely something that should be given a thought. Too bad I don't think Relic/SEGA will take almost complete opposite direction with this DLC thing anymore.
But I'll vote for this man and am ready to sign some petition for those comments.
I certainly didn't expect game without Chat/Lobby/custom annihilate/game that kinda starts to resemble facebook game.
I hope I am wrong, but I think that COH2 will turn out to be exact opposite to everything that made COH great
I hope I'm not wrong but I think they are trying to make effort while listening the opinions of the community. Yesterday there was after match this feedback questions, which feature I (among with other players) would like to see most. I voted the most important the Ladders, but it was a bit unclear whether the Custom Game meant for the options for automatch as well. Well hoping for some improvements for the base game as well (along with these debated DLC's).
I paid for a game, that isn't even the game it's made out to be. All I get are mundane commanders, with units that don't help me play the game as it's meant to be played, or how I want to play it. That's totally a shit thing to do.
At the very least - at the very least, give us in-game currency to unlock this shit. Turn it into a F2P game, which isn't F2P, where you earn super sweet and shiny Nazi-Gold to buy WW2-Points to buy sweet new commanders - whatever. Just don't do it this way.
Could you specify a bit how this is not a game you paid for? It's great CoH which needs just a bit patching.
Not really sure have you been playing games recently. Most games does this nowadays? It's not that rare anymore. Metro Last Light released DLC at the same day that the game was released which contained an OPTION to game. One more difficulty to the game to be specific. That was included in CE, that I would count as rip off.
Thought to register and also express my feelings about this mess.
First of all, I bought this game without the early game access so I paid less than 30e + I have bought one extra commander. So roughly the price is so far 30e. I've played around 75hrs so that would make 40c per hour, so not too bad.
While I feel bad about the buyers of CE, I'm a bit confused about this whole situation. If we look other CEs in general, they usually don't promise any future content (or atleast didn't use to). E.g. Fallout 3 collector's edition was a pipboy with some extra content (music, map, you name it). All of the later content needed to be paid separately. Of course the deal was that it was fucking awesome, the whole package.
The situation was different with e.g. Max Payne 3 where you could by season pass where the developers PROMISED all future content for free. In this case (CoH2) if I remember correctly the content of CE version was already known when the game wasn't even yet released. Don't shoot if I remember wrong, I wasn't following what was going on at the moment.
The only thing where I think Relic could have improved was the timing. They should have attach this to the recently released DLC. Or then wait (maybe have patch or few as been mentioned here) and then release the commanders. IMO they have to draw a line at some point where buyers of CE will not get stuff free anymore. This line was drawn in wrong place.
Anyway, my biggest concern is how it will effect gameplay. I hope that these commanders are as described just alternative strategies other than requirements for winning. Haven't been playing yet today so can't really say. And also as said earlier, if there's more to come (these DLC Commanders with huge variety), is it always same situation? Hopefully these will be considered and as I have done until now, I will just pick one or two now and then if they seem interesting.
That's why I'm hoping more opinions how these affect, are they OP or is it just talk?
