It's situational, but I find the T70 is a nice shock unit.

I don't float enough munitions to get the AA upgrade on the halftrack right away, but I do like the reinforcement and transport functions.

Yes, in case you did not know, you can easily recon your opponent's base with the recon strafe from the same commander. You can then use this vision to drop a bomb. That means from the moment he unlocks divebomb, your base is vulnerable for a nuke no matter what. You might have thought, "you can counter it by not letting your opponent scout your base." Well, there. You can't do that.

It's so quick that you can do it as a reactionary move AFTER your opponents retreat, especially in a large map.

So to answer your question, yes, you can, sincerely, do all of that. You can catch your opponent out, make him retreat, THEN recon his base, and drop a game-ending bomb. All you need is timing, but once you're aware of that, then it's all downhill from there.

Also, one last word, if you can defend dive-bombing an enemy base, then I encourage you to make a thread to enable UKF's concentrated artillery fire and air superiority to be used in base sectors.

All artillery should be useable anywhere. Base sector safehaven bullshit is awful.

Because it only costs manpower and once you build it you never have to think about it again. It can't be destroyed or killed either (Well maybe they can kill the medics?) since it's tied to the HQ. The ambulance in particular is vulnerable to being sniped by something like say a Puma after a mass retreat. Likewise, I'm in the habit of sneaking my AEC into my opponents base when he is elsewhere on the map to kill his med bunker before peacing out. (Works best on a big map.) I think the other races certainly have more potent healing options, but the complete passivity of the soviet option is kind of nice sometimes.

Anyway that's just my opinion. I think the ambulance is most powerful, but it's also the most fragile.

I would argue that brits have the best healing in the game and whilst this is a short fall and can be irritating in the late game its more then balanced out by the fact that it is super strong and effectively super cheap.

I definitely agree, which is why I'm wary of adding anything new especially before late stages of the game. I just think the medics are already there, they're just locked to one doctrine for whatever reason even though they're not a core component of it. I think they'd be a nice quality of life purchase at that point in the game.

Early game you want to use volks in green cover as much as possible and try and sneak sturm pios around. Kubel can be used to draw their fire.

Maxim firing arc is really small.

Get mechanized company and build a flak halftrack and support it with a puma afterwards. He might have ~one AT gun out by the time your halftrack hits the field but if you micro right it can survive just fine.

Puma hard counters T70's, shocktroops get countered by flak HT and puma. Only thing you have to worry about is AT guns.

I like to get medic truck after this and get an ISG and flashlight HT to maintain map presence.
