They are both significant fuel investments that die fairly easily to handheld AT. I'd like to see how strats develop to counter them before they get nerfed too much. |
I suspect some people don't know that you can target a different squad once the volley fire suppresses the first one. The suppression also increases over time while the ability is active so that if you retarget a squad that's out of cover in the last 5 seconds of the ability, they are usually pinned instantly. |
Elite rifleman is always one star.. Doesn't seem to be random like elite training..
Elite training gives a fixed amount of XP, but different units have different veterency requirements. |

1.5x speed on roads is monstrous. Agree that relic seems intent on overbuffing/overnerfing... small changes are better. |
I just discovered that there is a "no victory conditions" setting in custom games, so you can start a 1v1 avs the cpu and just walk away indefinitely.
I would really like to see total xp earned in a game affect drop rate. Alternatively/additionally, as someone else said, having specific goals could be very fun: the only way to get the salvage commander drop is by salvaging 100 wrecks, only way to get the recon commander is to get 5 pathfinders to vet 3, etc.
Let bulletins and camo stay random, but the things people really want should be more accessible. |
A key point that I think is missing from this thread is how the nature of team games favor the axis, particularly Ostheer. Look at the maxim vs the 42 in practice: which one needs support more? The infantry balance also encourages axis units to work in teams, while conscripts and rifles do better running around the map alone.
It's just easier to play well as a team as axis. The teching is part of this too: soviets can really only go t3 or t4 and t1 or t2, while every Ostheer player can go t1 t2 and have that be a viable build.
A noob who spams penals is useless in a team game. A noob who spams mg42s can be helpful. |

Gotta test it out first, but m3 seems overnerfed. I'd really like it if only one or two values were changed at a time. Instead, movement, penetration, and cost all get changed at once. There's nothing wrong with units being strong. Whenever a unit over-performs, instead of making its cost commiserate with it's performance, it just gets nerfed into the dirt instead (see penals). |
