As double US, one guy should probably go 3-4 rifles ---> grenades, the smoke lets you deal with MGs easily. Talking specifically about being pinned on semoisky or 2v2 scheldt: don't over commit. Frequently there are cut-off points for various things, like how adding just 1HP to a tank would make it take 1 more shot to die. It often takes 1 full burst from an MG to suppress a squad, if they received 27% less suppression they might be able to take a full burst and keep moving, and that is a very large difference in how engagements play out.
