Afaik infantry callins were independant from teching back then. Only the tanks were connected to tiers. With lower fuelcosts of course.
I recall call-ins replaced units from their corresponding tier buildings. Shocks and guards replacing penals, T34/85 replacing T34/76, Tiger replacing Panther etc.
I don't understand why people have trouble dealing with smoke nades. Can't you just reposition when the smoke pops? Squad loses vis on your mg too so he has no idea where you will set it up while he is recovering from suppression.
The ISU/Jagd nerf should probably have been left in. Given their fearsome reputation currently, it's better for them to be useless (if the hands of a mediocre player anyway) than for them to be super good (as now)
This. The nerfs opened up so many new commanders and strategies to play with and now it went back to same bs again. I was really looking forward to playing some 2on2s after a long time but I guess I'll wait for a new patch again...
Since 8 minutes is a horribly long time in CoH2. 3 minutes would be perfect, it would give you a better feeling that it is actually "live". Since you don't seem to care about how long the delay is, would it have been better for you if Relic just automatically uploaded the replays of each game instead of creating the observer mode? It would probably have saved them a lot of effort when people like you don't care about when a game is taking place.
You can set it to 0 in custom games for tourneys so the stream is actually live. To be honest I wasn't even expecting observer mode to be implemented in automatch. I think 8 minutes is fine. I for one look forward to spectating my friends' games a lot while chatting in teamspeak.
To be honest there's not much they can do about this. Basically the script is just clicking screen automatically, it'd be impossible to detect whether the script is doing the clicking or a human.
Bars for the USF are also getting a major buff in the next patch which effectively turn American infantry into potent infantry, so nerfing the Obersoldatens(OKW's only line of defence against the Russian and American hordes of infantry) isn't a wise move.
Atleast in the beta even buffed BARs dont help much. You still have to blob 3 Rifles against a single Obersquad.
It does annoy me too that any infantry pretty much stands no chance against Obers. I think Soviets have still easier time dealing with them since you can get relatively cheap tanks or KV8 to shit on them. Hate it when I have to start cheesing M8 Mortars to deal with Obers as US.
