I usually build a mortar or mortar HT. You can use the smoke barrage to blind the SU-85 and the snipers and I regularly kill some snipers with a direct hit.
I also make sure to have a HT nearby to quickly reinforce my grens.

Last patch you added more RNG to the game. Why?

Why would you make the primary vehicle snare in the game a random factor? Nobody was complaining about AT Nades and Panzerfausts. And if they did the primary solution was not to make them totally useless against larger tanks.

I disagree.

I don't see why a 240mp unit should cause a 100% engine damage on every vehicle no matter its size. I also don't see how this should be more skillful than managing combined arms AT.

For the first stages of the game it's absoulutely fine to have fausts/at-nades causing engine damage on the lighter vehicles but as the game advances there are other options for the job.

The soviets have cheap mines, guards, ram (yet I haven't tried it post patch) and still a chance to crit with at-nades.

Yes the Germans have fewer options but they also face fewer fast and heavy tanks( only T-34/74/85 and Is-2 pretty much). Their AT is also more mobile (P4, Panther, Shrecks, Stug).

So for me the skill lies in the evaluation of risks and chances. Can I afford the 33% risk of getting at-naded when rushing in my panther or not?

So I think the changes made by Relic regarding Panzerfaust and AT-nade are pretty much spot on and add a lot of variation to the gameplay as aggressive tank manuvers can be way more rewarding.

I do agree on most of your other points.

Just to be clear we are very happy with the performance of CoH 2 so far. It's tracking very well against the sales of our other games, including DoW II and the original CoH. We have a long term plan to support the game and will continue to roll out new features. For example today we're adding map veto. We have an aggressive support plan in place that will see new content dropping regularly, much of it for free. We are in an exceptionally good place with a publisher who understands both what we want to do and the PC gaming market.

People will come and go as the game grows and changes. A lot of people just buy games for the single player experience, and after a few months will have finished up the campaign and other missions only to return when more of that stuff comes is released. Others, like most of you, only really play for multiplayer and so will stay on constantly as long as you're having fun.

Whether or not you're having fun is up to you, and we're eager for all the feedback we can get about why you may or may not be having fun. That helps us improve the game and we definitely appreciate it.

But the rumors of CoH 2's death are greatly exaggerated.

As for leaderboards we're very thankful for the hard work that COH2.ORG put into the ladders here. We will have Steam Leaderboards, which are being built by a third party who has been much slower than they should be.

If you think about who might be the non-Relic company responsible for Steam Leaderboards you may guess who it is. For whatever reason they promised us Leaderboards at launch and have so far failed to provide them.

We're sorry about that, and for now it's beyond our control. However it did prompt us to work with COH2.ORG to provide something in the meantime and I think these ones are probably cooler.

Over the past years I have become a very sceptical and cautious customer when it comes to PC-Games and the CoH - along with the Total War franchise are some of the few game series I still trust.

The best solution is to increase the setup time of MG42s so that they can no long be attack-moved.

Where there's no problem there's no need for a solution.

The 10% suppression bulletin needs to be looked at, not the mg42 itself.

And for the maxim that's a whole other topic. I don't know why people always come up with the comparsion maxim vs. mg42. They both have a specific and different role within their faction and I agree that the mg42 fulfills its role better than the maxim does atm, but that's a problem of the maxim needing some tweaks and not the mg42.

2 words - Attack Move

Anytime you send the Maxim anywhere use attack move and it will set up and start mowing down infantry as soon as it sees them. Keep a Conscript squad with AT nades upgraded nearby in the mid and late game to stop flame-tracks and Scout Cars forcing a retreat and killing them as they run.

I always forget about that damn attack move....
