You don't have to be disrespectful about it, man. You don't get to decide who's ignorant and who isn't.
In contrast to your argument, I could just as easily say that you are ignorant, because you "assumed" in an earlier post, and I quote:
I've never read devs saying this is what THEY wanted, so putting words into their mouths is brash, at best. Ignorant at worst.
Sticking to what you said: Yes, the IS-2 is too expensive for what you get, no doubt, but you also have to remember that, in the state of the game as it is, you can support your IS-2 in better ways than the Germans can support their Tiger.
How?
The IS-2, regardless of doctrine, can be supported by SU-85's which, excepting StuG's, is cheaper than any other German AT solution. Its also superior 1 to 1.
Given these two variables, there are more chances that IS-2 will be supported by an SU-85, which outranges Panthers and Tigers. In fact, given the economical contrasts between both factions, it is very hard for the Ostheer to field a Panther AND a Tiger at once (415 fuel). So logically, making it a little harder for the Soviet to bring an SU-85 and an IS-2 (oh look, 416 fuel!!! very similar) is not that unbalanced after all.
Now lets assume both players have battled conservatively. They have played their cards right, and th egame is VERY close. Both bring their heavy Tanks, and both have their T4 tanks... They have spent 415 and 416 fuel each. Big investment.
Unless the German player pulls an elaborate flank, the Soviet player can just take potshots at both targets, and those two targets WILL NOT be able to fire back. The German Smoke is defensive, and it will help them retreat, but NOT win the fight. Spotting scopes are very good, but they require you to be static. Same with Hull down.
Now sure, if both players just have those two tanks, the Tiger will win, most likely. Units are meant to be asymmetrical in the game, but not identical in match ups. Making it less expensive would increase the chances good soviet players can support it with SU-85's, and then the Germans have serious issues escalating that kind of firepower.
I still took the time to reply to you, though...
dev reply on the SEGA forum during the beta, "have you tried RAM?".....vehicles were deliberately scale down to balancing the "RAM" Opness |
so does elefant |
"what if I don't get in the building?"
What if you change this invincible building cover mechanism to what is was in vCOH?
|
The pathing for both infantry and vehicle are still pain especially in winter maps, infantry tends to jump back during a march,
vehicle like rotates its arse left and right while giving it a reverse order, and vehicle are trying to find "cover" for itself, it's just annoying....
I don't remember in vCOH has these many unnecessary move.....hope they are working on it. |
Agree with most of the Stats of OP
For Stug:
I personally like to see stug back to 75 fuel and keep what it is, a spammable AT weapon with acceptable AI capabilities(especially the MG turret gunner has been far more effective then what is was in vCOH)
A spendable AT counter which is nice and add a little bit authentic, and a decent soft-counter T-34 spam( after T-34 buff...)
For elefant:
It is a beastly tank with beastly gun, but remember, it has 320damage/hit, which is the highest damage output in the game, 320damage/hit with 8.55 reload and 170 pen for a 100m maxim range gun with 400 frontal armor, this unit is potentially very very overpowered if it get's such high price reduction.
I'd like to see both ISU-152 and elefant range dropped from 100m to 80~90, and damage reduction from 320 to 200 and rise ROF a little for elefant.
BTW, the conesight+spotter combo of elefant is little bit too effective
|
Elefant=end to every soviet armor, the problem is it comes late, but no armor can match the Elefant, it has cone sight+spotter scope combo, which is lame.
Tiger useless? Tried JS-2? You can go infantry-heavy and then get a Tiger call-in |
reload lower from 4 to 6 |
I really love how T-34/76 & T-34/85 feel like in the Eastern Front model, T-34/76 feels like a Cromwell unarmored a little bit, and T-34/85 feels like a bigger PZIV...
off-topic.give cons DP28 after builds the T1 or T2? DP28 is vastly inferior to LMG42 but still is a decent damage upgrade for cons...
but not before the Hit the Dirt got tweaked, as all previous comment above, I can't agree more about giving the units in game more various upgrades to make this game have more diversity and fun..... |
I encountered this before, I'm the only one using the internet, and I've got kicked in the middle of the game...... |
Panzer Grenedier has a 5% accuracy buff, looks juicy, but do 5% accuracy do that much a difference?
BTW, I've heard from a old COH mate, infantry in vCOH below 10% of health=instant death...hope that is just a rumor |
