Also shocks + con's at nades and mines counter the FHT. Snipers could work but they are easy to kill and the russians can merge to keep the reinforcment's cost at 20 mp.
As said before, smoke 'nades help against Mg-42s.

Also the cheap and early soviet call-ins wreck the german early-late game to dust. |

I feel your pain Z3r07, I had a game yesterday against SturmTigerPeruci. His 120mm 1 shotted a fresh pg, his strafe got my vet 2-3 grens squad, officier and paks. I have the replay if you are interested. |
I agree that is the current meta. However, spamming t0-t1 units until call in tanks can be done with the Elite troops doctrine. I believe giving a motar vet 3 in the early game is ridiculously powerful. SI works better on bigger maps for sure, where 4 scripts can hold their own long enough for T70s to come out.
Same with Guard Motor and Shock Rifle, just can live with T0 + call-ins (maybe T1 or T2 if need something). Also call-in tanks come too early nowadays. |
Only begginer players. If you dont lay mines, you lost tank battle.
Or you can get T2 and drop 'nades then go for the Is-2 like CaptainPrice did against me last week. It worked, he didn't planted much mines. |
The 221 in teamgames are good, combined with the spotting scope it's a REAL recon vehicle.
In 1v1s it's only worth getting it of your oppponent went for T1, otherwise don't, it is just a resource sink. And also pray for not hitting a mine before doing some damage which is BS due to the 30 ammo costs mines.
But yeah......it could use some HP buff and the cost of the autocannon upgrade changed to like 40-50 ammo, the germans always have something else to spend their ammo on. |
The germans have better AT options in theory, both their tanks and infantry + paks (even mines too) do the trick well. But in 1v1s im always struggling to counter the russian tanks 'cause of the muni costs.
BUT!! in a game german players are can't use all of his AT arsenal due to the heavy muni or fuel cost. So...their upgrades are too expensive (mg42/G-43, shrecks, FHT, bunker upgrade, teching up,tank upgrades and the commander abilities). Yeah paks are good....but they get cleared out too easly.
While the russians can always counter tanks cheaper (30 muni for a mine, AT 'nades, Guards counter T2's light vehicles, ramming, Su, mark target + T-34-85s). |
It's one first games with me using luftwaffe doctrine, it went pretty well in early, I've managed to cut him off for a moment, get T3 and P4 and ofc everything screwed up after all mighty T34-85 call-in.

Guard motor and the T-34-85s are very good, it is bs that the soviets can play through the whole game with T0 + call-ins, and only get T2 for ATGs. |
Russian Grenades in this game overall feel stronger than their German counterparts.
In most cases it is probably balance (impact vs timer, mass grenades vs one grenade), but regardless the PZG bundle grenade is more comparable to a Guard / ST grenade, let alone a Penal satchel charge.
Soviets always have more ammo to drop 'nades than the germans. |
